My wallet spoke: 2017 KTM SXF 450

After years of riding almost every brand besides KTM i finally decided to buy me a sweet, brand new 450

Started the season on this animal
2016 TM 300
I did not have that much luck with that bike so i switched bikes in July

2016 KX450f

Found out that i'm not really a kawi guy so after riding my dad's '16 KTM 450 i decided to just buy me this beauty

I'm gonna make it a Herlings replica so i just got my fresh stickers

The bike is now at my suspension guy, i bought really good looking cone valve forks wich i will use, i really really hate airforks so i'm really glad that i found a good set of CV forks.

I'll post more photo's tomorrow when i'm finished with the graphics.

Ps. Sorry for the poor english, i'm dutch and my vitalish is not that good yet

Strictly curiosity, but what do you mean by building a new '16?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but there is so little feedback on the TM's that I have to ask.

Which model TM did you have 250/300 and what did/didn't you like about it?

How much did it cost? These bikes from a dealer in Canada are around $13,000 CDN after sales taxes, not good. You could get them in 2011 for about $8,500.

They are probably sweet bikes though, 62HP has been claimed.

To be honest i acctually liked everything about the TM, the handling, the KYB SSS forks, the 450 killing power. But i just had some bad luck with ignition problems and sponsor issues

Looks good, what's your opinion on the bike?
10/31/2016 6:08am
I did ride the bike on saturday with the Cone Valve installed and the JH84 graphics, can't believe how good it handles and how good the suspension is, my last KTM was a 2010 SXF350 and i sold that bike after 4 hours because it turned like *@$% i'm really blown away, it just doesn't feel like a typical KTM anymore

Next step is anodizing my stock clamps in orange and my KITE/A60 wheels will be here in a couple of days including my sick Ti/Carbon dutch made HGS exhaust system

You can ride the bike in every way you want, down low the bike is really sweet and mellow wich is perfect for hardpack tracks or when you get tired, but as soon as you slightly touch the clutch or when you ride the bike in higher RPM then its an absolute monster. European version of the SXF450 also come with a 4-speed gearbox wich makes the gears pretty long. That's a thing i really like too.

I don't know what to say about the Kawi, i did not like anything, shit forks, slow engine.. you just need a lot of stuff to make a stock kawi a good bike but that's just my opinion. I know guys who are in love with the stock kx

Congrats on the new bike. New graphics and seat make it look super factory. Nice job.
