EZ Ups

I know there are a few threads already but I couldn't find the answer in any of them. I have a Suzuki EZ Up that came with a bike, it's pretty bulletproof and it's on it's third top but but I need one for my wife to use for shows so I want a clean one which mine isn't. It needs to handle rain and even a little show. I know the low end EZ Ups like the Envoy are lighter than what I have. Does anyone know what the equivalent in todays models is? Or are there any other brands that don't cost a fortune that are good?

Hoola hoops in the corners add a ton of strength to hold up against rain puddling and even snow load.

I have a 10x10 EZ up brand that has the heavy commercial frame and top and have had it for over 20 years. I dont use it that much anymore but I suggest that you buy one that is made for commercial use as mine still looks new, no tears or bends in the frame. I bet I can get 20 more years out of it. Don't waste money on a cheap one that the wind can destroy and keep it tied down tight even if you don't expect any bad weather.

I've always ordered tents for work through Omni Promotions in Colorado. They do custom tops, walls, etc. They were great for outdoor expos, especially the frames, which are high-grade aluminum. I may or may not have a kept a frame when I left my job...

Try Harbor Freight for a light weight unit at a low price.

I bought a Quest version from Dicks a couple years ago on sale for $60. I figured if it didn't hold up for more than a year, $60 was cheap enough to just buy a new one every year. It's still going strong although I do have a couple of pin size holes starting to develop in the canopy.

I bought two walls/sides as well. They make a world of difference in creating shade. Especially at a race where you're there almost all day.

You should spray paint "free candy" on the side of your van.

ah that felt good to finally say that at an opportune time.

The newer ones have a much better clamp/release system on the poles when setting up. Mine is 15 years old and has the old push the steel ball in method. This summer it finally gave in and one of the balls broke. It's always been a pain in the ass to set up.
The new style set up in minutes.

Big thing is about longevity is to remove the cover before folding. I have had a few and this last one has held up great folds easy with one person if the canopy is removed. Paid 50 at Walmart. Could be ozark.

Oh and of course tying it down good every time.

Look up 2TrickRick on here. He had some excellent 10x20 top quality ones he was blowing out for around $300+shipping I believe?. At first I was a bit hesitant about the size but I can put it up and down by myself esier than my little 10x10. He was great to work with also.........

The black Yoshimura Suzuki one you got with your bike is $349 at any Suzuki dealer. There's also a blue/white or a blue/yellow version with different graphics for the same price.

I have been through a few ez ups with my small business. The Coleman 10x10 is built rugged and has nice features. It was around $120. It has a rugged canopy and carrying bag with wheels that has enough room to fit ez-up with tarp on it with out ripping case.

I've just started running an ez up type canopy since I got a van. What's a tried and true method of securing it from blowing away? I have plenty of room to carry whatever. Thanks

You literally can't beat the ALiAS heavy duty pop-up canopy... $299 plus free shipping with a D2R account (Retail is $699.99).

For perspective...Here's a side by side by my ALiAS pop-up and a EZ-up brand pop-up... excuse the dirt.

Someone else said Dicks Sporting goods I think. Get one of theirs 50$ for 10 x 10 and get the 20$ lifetime replacement insurance and you will be set. They have bigger ones too and accessories like screens and walls too. I use one on a beach and they have replaced it 3 times no questions asked.
