No, the original post about that being for Shimoda was right. Geico'a amateur squad is called "Amsoil Honda" as Amsoil is the title sponsor there.

Per the usual with Geico's 450 rider, they can run whatever gear deals they want. So Malcolm would be in Seven anyhow.

Yup Malcolms deal with Geico is not going through anymore according to Mathes and the other guest on the pulpmx show. They all seemed very confident in their answer too. It just leaves me to wonder why earlier today Malcolm's mechanic posted a photo on instagram of Malcolm on a 16 geico Honda wearing seven gear. I want to hear an answer soon already, especially since Malcolm is gonna be racing overseas this week. Hopefully him and his brother end up making a team with seven and honda.

If the Honda deal doesn't end up coming together, they will both be out of luck. The positions have been filled everywhere else.

Makes me wonder if Big James is running the show, and pride is getting the best of them. BJ might be pushing a "both of them or none of them" scenario...and Geico balked. I'm just speculating.

Hope this turns out with Malcolm on a solid ride for 2017 whether or not James finds a seat. Hate to say that...but I hope James doesn't keep his brother from getting signed.

If the rumor is true, he'll be on a Factory Honda. It'll be a 2016, but who's to say that anyone but Roczen and Seely will have the 2017 450's in time to be prepared ?
MotoConcepts bought 2026's because the 450's weren't going to be here in time to test and get them working good in time for A-1. I have ZERO inside knowledge of the Stewart deals, but I'd be willing to bet that there wasn't going to be much money for Mookie to ride the 450 Geico bike in the first place. Bogle rode it for free last year....
He'll probably have a salary if the rumors are true of the Seven Honda team.
