You can't scrub anything and everything, maybe there hasn't been a jump worth scrubbing yet. I don't recall any of the other riders scrubbing much either...

I saw him scrubbing the finish jump in practice at A1, but don't recall in the night show.

It defiantly looked better on the Kawi though.

Not true. Larry Brooks is not supporting "The Scrub" this year. Stewart really wants to bring it out again... but, unfortunately, the team is not there for him. Sad.

Thats what i am worried about. If you watch his youtube video's on the Kx, you can see its a night and day difference to the way he rides now.

He was unique on the Kawi, but on the yammie he looks more like everyone else.

This is true, it is physically impossible to scrub a Yamaha.

well i seen bubba drag his kx125's footpeg off the face of a triple back when pontiac was still around, drit went flying and i think he went all of about 2ft higher than the lip, i dont see a reason it cant be done it obviously is faster because if i recall he also cut a 52 when reed's fastest on the 250 was a 53

I think in either Mathes' podcast with him or maybe just a random interview I read, Stewart came right out and said he doesn't like to do it anymore...

Scrub is over rated, wastes to much energy, and at the end of the day, he doesn't need it to win...Bubba finally realized he was just wasting a ton of energy doing it...

The scrub was so 2 years ago.. Stewart sets the trends you guys need to keep up.. his style did change because he changed it not because of the bike. Evil He rid himself of the scrub for the better.

Chad was scrubbing a bunch at A2 in the rhythm section, he would take the inside, triple, then scrub like crazy on the small double before the next triple

I liked it when RC jumped over a scrub to make a pass.

He still does it, just not on every jump. It is a useful technique.

It's useful...at wasting energy.

Seriously, how many times did RC jump over the top of a scrubbin' bubba, or at least not lose any time to bubba when bubba scrubbed? Tons! It was a waste of energy...but it looked cool, and so everyone started doing it.

Have you ever wondered how Bubba scrubs it so far in the air? Well, now you will know!

From wikiHow

Steps
1. Start off by finding a small (ish) jump and get on your bike.
2. As you come towards the jump, line yourself up to one side of the jump.
3. As you hit the base of the jump, turn in the opposite direction of the side you're on.
4. At the top of the jump, as your front wheel lifts off, lean to one side while still turning.
5. In the air level yourself out but leave the bike sideways.
6. As you come to the end of your air time, pull the bike back up and land.

Tips
* Don't get frustrated. It takes time.
* Keep at it for as long as possible to perfect it.

Warnings
* This is a dangerous trick and should not be attempted without a lot of previous skill on your bike.
* Make sure you don't land sideways!
* Wear a helmet and pads if you're just learning, and make sure if you crash, your fall won't hit you too hard.

There are countless video's like the one above of Stewart scrubing past riders...mostly RC, so you cant tell me its not a good move. He was doing it on his KX right up until his last ride, so he must not feel that comfy on the YZ yet.

You'd be hard press to tell me the scrub was the reason he made that pass-he wasn't even jumping any lower than RC...he just had a better line...take the scrub out, and he still makes the pass.
