Why you never let others ride your bikes:

Sick Pinch Shocked

First, there's so much f___kery going on in this picture.

Let's start with this bike I found for my brother whose 16. Pristine condition. Got him a notary so he can go ride by himself on days I can't go.

But it gets better. That's not him on the bike. And he never told me that anyone took a hellacious digger on it.

Gets better, why in the hell would anyone let a guy like that (check his goggles) touch a dirtbike that wasn't his ? I'm not sure. Except at 16 you're young and retardedly stupid, maybe I'll make him buy his next bike. Or make him fix the mangled mess himself.

This is the end result: man I bet he didn't think anyone would catch a pic of this, and all my track friends asking me if his friend is ok after a nasty digger via text. With my response being "err what??". This is just my brother, makes me not want to have kids. I'm 29 he's 16. I don't rememeber doing SHIT like that when I was younger....

Kids get pressured into stuff easier, and they make mistakes. I let some people ride my bike but I also am the one fixing it if something happens. Which has happened a few times... no big deal usually.

Rule of thumb, don't ride it if ya cant afford to fix or replace shit. And fast guys racing for money, hand over 60% of winnings ,seems fair since they don't have a bike.

One thing, your brother was proud of his bike......"hey man you gotta try my new bike out it rips!" Then everyone got a shot at feeling how amazing it was until the one fool wadded it up!

been there done that...from both sides.

The day my good friend got his Honda Support 84 CR250, I twisted it pretty hard off this downhill drop into some ruts and over the bars...twisting sub frame, radiators and pretty much every control. One of my biggest Dip-Shit maneuvers

Well, there's nothing wrong with letting someone else ride your bike but you have to choose the right person.... I have no problem with it when a riding mate wants to try my bike for a few laps if they take it easy. Whole other story when someone is going all out on a bike after 1 lap... Then it's doomed to go wrong.

In moto and mountain biking, "you can ride my bike" effectively means "you can crash my bike". It's impossible to promise someone you'll keep it on two wheels, there is so much on track that's out of your control. Combine that with an unfamiliar machine, and it's going to happen sometimes. Like all crashes and mechanicals, it's just the cost of doing business. I wouldn't berate your 16 year old brother for being a nice kid.

16yr old kids are squirrel's anyways haha. Some times things can go side ways real quick. Luckily they bounce like a rubber ball. Btw : hope the kid is ok.

As far as loaning bikes out , I don't let anyone take my bikes.....but if I'm there at the track , and it's someone I know and trust , hell yeah , go tear it up! I've let more friends ride my bikes than I've ridden of theirs. I never feel comfortable on some one else bikes.

That a suicide attempt?

Rule #1: Don't lend anyone anything
Rule #2: Don't borrow anything because it will break while in your possession and cost you $.

Haha what a moran! Sorry for the bike. That's just nature taking care of itself. When I was a kid everyone wanted to ride my new bike (77 yz 125). I would only let them with me on back. Well as luck would have it, a guy was hauling ass the other way over a blind hill and he sideswiped us and took my left foot with him. Broken tib and fib. Lesson learned the hard way!

Never loan out your bike or your old lady cause you might end up with a rod thrown in both. And OP does Youngstown still have that freestyle shit in the middle with freestyle guys going nuts while the moto guys are riding? I went there while I was staying in ohio in between the outdoors and I remember that place being a little sketchy.

It's not sketchy now. It's actually super nice with really nice booters. Forgiving landings. I really like it. Fun track to ride. Big jumps but they're forgiving as long you're not trying to be a hero by scrubbing when you got no business scrubbing.

This one is my brother.

I don't want to test bikes for the oposite reason. I don't want a badly maintained machine to blow up on me.

I'd probably wad someone's (borrowed) bike by trying to impress her with my mad skillz.

I let my buddy Brad Sloan race my 95 CR250 HoT bike with the understanding he'd replace anything he tweaked.

But then again he wasn't a teenager either.

colintrax-failed scrub attempt was my vibe as well.

Georgie, you said your brother is in this pic? Is there supposed to be a guy in the picture?

Huh?

All the bikes I've tested have been maintained by smarter people than me.

I have no problem letting certain people ride my bikes. A few of my close riding friends who I know can ride a dirt bike really well can take a spin on my bikes. If they happen to crash, it is what it is. I wouldn't hold them responsible for fixing it. But in the end, they're my close friends and I know even though I said they didn't have to fix anything they still would.

One of my buddies, who has been a close friend for 20+ years is a little pressed for money at the moment. He can take my bike any time he wants and if he crashes or breaks something I wouldn't care at all. It's not like he would intentionally break something. I would rather help him out by letting him tear it up for a bit and have some fun. Someone who's not a close friend and that I don't trust? Nope, they wouldn't be taking my bikes.

Yeah, I think we found the reason he crashed!

One of the biggest mistakes I made was allowing a neighbor kid to ride my Son's '87 YZ80. Guaranteed whiskey throttle when they hit the pipe for the first time. Old timers will know exactly what I'm talking about. Those 80's barked when you hit the pipe.

Could be worse..It could have been your brother on that bike. Bikes can be fixed. Sometimes body's can't. Unless it's summer time. That fixes all body problems Whistling
