Barcia had a mechanical failure in that moto. He took a 3rd in the other moto.

Dude has been riding that Factory KTM for xxxx years got beat by a guy that started deep in the teens, and blames it on jet lag?

Going west is EASY. It's the going east that is hard.

When you are on an east coast schedule and are used to getting up at 0700 and head to Europe and have to get up at 0700 in Europe (which is 0100 or 0200 EST) that is a shock and that is jet lag.

Going from wherever this guy lives (GMT +1/2) to the east coast means he gets to sleep in a few more hours.

Of all the excuses that is the worst one...

But good try. Glen Helen will be good!

Yep and the Rookie this year just beat JH84 the European proclaimed fastest man on the planet straight up in the rougher final Moto on a track type that Eurpoeans have been racing on for a few years now. Now that's impressive.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Herlings/Gajser on "WORKS" bikes compared to Tomac/Barcia/Webb/Forkner on their "production based" bikes?

I'd say thats a tad of an advantage, no?

Good racing tonight! Nice to finally see Herlings race. No doubt he is a great rider, but it's clear he has no competition in MX2. If he raced the US nationals he might win, or he might be third. But he'd at least have competition. In the 450s, I don't see the top two positions changing in the Nationals if TG and others were to race. But the racing would be better.

I don't know about that. Did you see how big he is? He is going to be an instant contender on the 450. The only question I have is can he keep the 450 on two wheels?

Harrison finishing 7th overall on a neutral track vs mostly gp guys is telling how these guys stack up. Imagine if we had a full compliment of AMA guys there. Guys such as the Martin bros, Savatgy, Hampshire, Nelson, etc. Guys who are typically fighting for podiums in the GP's would have finished 15th or worse. The MX1 class is a bit of a different story. Plenty of fast guys who can compete with all AMA guys except Tomac, Roczen and Dungey.

No doubt, he is a great rider and will get better. But what I saw tonight, one night, one track, was that the top two positions in the Nats would not be different if he raced here. In a year or two, who knows! But it would be great to add him to the competition.

Herlings might win here now, it would at least be great racing.

Not sure, but I was walking by the JGR pit just in time to see him throw his helmet at the ground in anger while venting to his mechanic about whatever the issue was.
