Need to send my cylinder in on this YZ 250. Nothing major, replate etc. It was the victim of a teenager.

Been a while, I cant remember if someone said they had issues with Millennium or Langcourt or something. Cant remember. Any suggestions?

Powerseal took FOR FUCKING EVER on my cylinder. The work was good but holy shit it was over a month after they received it. I'm convinced they do that to make you pay the ridiculous 'rush' fee.

Yea I had them repair my cylinder as well, the turnaround was something like 4-weeks. Which normally would really upset me, but I had the suspension off at the same time and the bike wasn't even close to ready. If time isn't important, then I would definitely recommend them. Comparable work to millinium tech, and I believe it was little bit cheaper. On a side note though millinium is a sponsor of this site now, so it may be a good idea to give them some business for that reason. I had no complaints when I used them years ago

I have used both in the past and liked both. Mainly used Millennium and always had a good experience. I just thought I read somewhere that people had been having issues with a company and couldn't remember who it was. Just trying to avoid a possible scenario like people have experienced with the FI guy in California. Its just been a while and accomplishing a little due diligence proactively.

Thanks for the replies and info on powerseal.

Just had Eric Gorr rebuild an engine. Total was a few weeks. Had to wait on a part or it may have been back in about two weeks max.

Derek Harris for the porting, millennium for the plating.

DO NOT use langcourt. They are only 2 hours from me and I still send them out over sending them to langcourt.

I've used millennium the last 4-5 years on yz cylinders. No complaints

ilI use powerseal mostly, but with good work comes more work... and to my knowledge its still mostly just Jaime and Chris doing work, which only allows so much work to done in a given time.

Most importantly, they fix any issues they have. Thats worth the world to me. Secondly, they do great work.

Millinium was bought out years ago and went massive business... I heard they do over 300 cylinders a day (which i cant believe). In that process some of the quality control slipped. They too make it right, but Myself and other builders I repsect have seen some of the same issues coming from there that can be relatively easy fixes for us, but for general consumer make some replates impossible for bolt and go ride. im told they brought in tom morgan to help "fix" some of this recently and take over for gorr when he left on their big bore business.

us chrome also does good work in general.

all three platers do bridge relief methods that arent ideal... and can lead to extremely quick ring wear/and or piston ring sticking and skirt scuffing. I dont blame them... proper process here is painstaking and time consuming... more so than the plating
