You guys listen to the most recent one?
They were talking about sitting or standing, Kenny vs K-Dub etc...
People always talk about how much KW sat, but does anyone else remember when he was brand new on the scene, standing on that YZ125 a lot? Seems it changed when he got to the Honda fourstroke, no?

The 4 bangers for me are so much quicker, i fell much better slowing late and setting close to the tank and wait to put the fuel back. On the smoker I seem to slow early and carry the momentum thru which on the thumper there is enough power to just turn the wrist.
KDub is one of if not the smoothest riders in my mind. He was, is and always will be the man!
Am I right on KW tho? I feel like I can picture him standing through turns all the time on that YZ. I'm going on a youtube mission...
Watching Unadilla exemplified this, Roczen/Musquin looked best through the long rutted sections as opposed to Nicolletti's sat down dangly feet technique which looked sketchy and visibly slower.
Another fine example was the Stewart/Everts battle at the 2006 Matterly MXDN, Everts was the king of the feet on the pegs style and used it to beat Stewart, who sat down too much for the nature of the track. I can picture the outside pass Everts put on Stewart now, up on the pegs railing a lot rut while looking smooth as butter!
Herlings also stands up, a lot. And we all know how fast he is.
Windham definitely sat down more as his career went on, id imagine the bikes were something to do with. But he made it work for him and had one of the best styles around!

Like JT said, certain things work for certain riders and certain tracks. That's whats so good about watching top level MX!
You gotta be in shape.
Problem is everyone's a lance.
Tights and road bikes.
Sitting on a bicycle is the worst thing you can do for mx/sx cross training.
On my cr125 my dad would freak out if I sat! One summer my dad removed my seat almost every practice!
I ride 24" bmx / 40-60 miles a day.
It keeps my spine straighter with no sitting!
40 miles of bmx a non- racer usually couldn't do , so don't go killing yourself!
Go try 10-20miles on a bmx for staters!
I just got in from my 3 hour morning ride!
Where I only hang on with my hands on a bmx , thus nothing for my legs to squeeze,
I never get arm pump from training like this!
I just rode my bmx 54miles in 2:45! That's almost 3 hours of standing and riding no sitting! After breakfast I'll hit the gym and then it's time to Moto! Due to standing and cycling I find it uncomfortable to sit down on my mx bike!
Standing on the pegs , unhooks you from the bike! It lets the bike bounce & dance around beneath you , without bucking you!
Seats are for seat bouncing and mid corner traction
Brake late
Mid corner - sit late
On the gas - and rise out of the saddle as you exit the turn
Get into attack mode - clear your mind
Look far ahead and ride what ever comes up!
#1 tip my dad ever gave me
"stand & ride whatever comes up"
I thought the talk on pulp was good. I never really payed attention ton to his riding style before
I stand a ton, always have. It is so much easier when it is rutty and beat up. Harescrambles I think I stand for the entire 2 hours...
And then there's other guys that stand a lot. I guess it's all how you can make the bike go faster than the rest.
Pit Row
Mind-numbingly stupid
