I'm wondering if anyone knows a few motorcross shops that have been in business since the 60s, 70s or 80s. I collect old school helmets from that time-frame and I'm wondering if they still have any in stock. Post a picture of what you used to ride with.

Let me know what you think?

Neat collection man. I can't help you with stores. Obviously you could use eBay or a comparable site. I've seen lots of vintage helmets out there.

Good job so far and good luck with your collection. I think it's a great idea.

Cycle West near me has been open since '69. I know they have old gear from pros on the walls.

Mark don't keep much anymore. He does have a few old bikes upstairs, though.

If you find any the inner liner is probably rotten or will fall apart. I worked in the industry for years, once I ordered some NOS vintage 70's Shoei & Bell helmets in the 90's from a distributor, When I pulled them out of the box, what was left of the inner padding fell into my lap. I bought them on sale so I put them on display and the color started fading and flaking off a few months later.

Sloans Motorcycle in Murfreesboro, TN has been open since at least 1936 but I believe they were open about 10 years before that

Wfo4ever - What did you end up doing with them? I know the interior dry rots but noting the vacuum can't fix. Who was the distributor? Maybe they still have some?
