I wouldn't be shocked to see him without a mainstream ride. Very talented guy, but too injury prone. Maybe back to Tedder like Weimer did.

Why would they have 3 riders?

It's been said on several occasions that Honda wants to be the powerhouse team like they used to be.

Heard from a pretty solid source that he's got an offer to go to Honda alongside Roczen.

Well, if factory KTM is going to go with 3 riders, why not HRC? They are coming back big time.
I just hope Deano gets factory ride, dude has way too much raw speed and talent to be left out of the factory teams. You can't teach speed huh?

Well for one Honda is having trouble with producing enough parts for the new bike because of the earthquakes in Japan. And KTM is way more flexible when it comes to bikes and teams.

But i want to see Dean on a factory ride regardless if its on a KTM, Honda or whatever. He is good enough for a factory ride like you said!

Really though? When was Wilson a raw speed guy? Never won a sx title and used consistency to beat Bagget for an outdoor title. Which was 2011, awhile ago

Somehow I see Dean signing a one year deal with a "factory assisted" team like BTO, Tedder, Geico or the like...proving he can finish the season nwxt year inside the top-5 without being injured...then picking up a mainstream factory ride for somebody like Honda or Kawasaki in '18.

I might be totally full of crap but I don't think he'll land on a full-factory team for '17. He's not a proven commodity, no matter how fast he has shown he can ride on occassion.

Dean won 11 motos in 2011 more than anyone else that year. He has had multiple polls and heat race wins I would say he has shown plenty of raw speed.

He's been fastest qualifyier few times in sx 450 class. Also can you remember daytona 2014? Deano was going for podium before arm pump hit him and he started dropping back. National champion also, so i guess you can say that guy got the speed.

I can't believe the "production issue" BS thats going around. This is Honda we are talking about. One of the biggest motorsports companies in the world. They could buy an existing company anywhere, build a new building, etc at the drop of a hat.

If they really are having a problem...quit making CRF250F's for a little bit, retool and make some 450's.

I know stuff happens but companies that big find a way.

Hell a local company in my area bought the corn field next to it, made it into a ghetto air strip and they fly out Air Bag parts to replace Takata's junk parts...in a town with less than 10,000 people. Surly Honda can find a way to stamp Titanium gas tanks so that they can get DeanO on a red bike if they waned.

His time has come and gone along with Stewart, Milsaps, Canard, Reed. You only have so long and so many chances then it's the next wave. They are still fast but no threats for a big bike title. Sad

The big teams don't just hire guys to win championships, how long was Weimer on factory kawi? It's more about team exposure, development, support, sponsor obligations etc etc

Yay! A tin foil hat kind of guy!

Fact, a massive earthquake in Japan heavily damaged the facility that produces the CRF (along with a bunch of other models) line, Fact, it also completely wiped out one of their parts suppliers in the area.

Something to think about, in the grand scheme of things the CRF isn't a big quantity item for Honda, they don't make near enough to justify going out and building a new line to produce that bike, that would take longer to set up then actually repairing their current line! Also, there are other motorcycle lines that have been affected by this issue as well, such as Honda's new Africa Twin adventure bike, which is a world wide hit. But now there's a shortage of them because of this issue.

It isn't as simple as "quit making CRF250F's for a little bit", as this line builds multiple models, and they're all affected.

But honestly, when you realize how little CRF450Rs are actually built, it doesn't make much sense to go out and spend a ton of money setting up a manufacturing line just to get the bikes here two months earlier.

So how are little CRF450Rs built? Very small tools?

If anything the race teams would have first dibs to any parts, so I think its highly unlikely that the earthquake impacts the number of riders and bikes available for race tems...ML can confirm or deny that.

KTM is way more flexible? oh dear... what it comes down to in terms of paying riders, mechanics, transport, support staff, bikes, parts etc is budget....KTM has a VERY big sponsor who pays massive amounts of money to them...that is why KTM is so 'flexible'.

Well Kenny and Baggett are gone, speculation about Stewart status, so Suzuki has Tickle. I think Suzuki could use another rider. Hire Wilson. Doubt the results would be worse than what Yosh has gotten lately.

Im not a tin foil hat guy at all...you honestly believe that Honda is struggling with parts? I think they are just making it as absolute perfect as possible.

Do they manufacture all the parts in one location, and assemble it in the same location?

Most of the cars produced here in Michigan are simply assembled in Michigan, with parts from all over the state/country/world. Tons of Level 2 or Level 3 suppliers that make the parts. So while people think the Camaro is made in Lansing...really just the body and a few other parts are.

I still believe that if Honda wanted they could make things happen like very few others.

just look at hrc right now. who is actually racing for them at the moment. exactly, noren. not seely, not trey. and that's not the first time is it.
having said that, I have no clue where deano will end up but I know, if I were rch, I'd go after him asap (if they haven't got anyone else signed but tickle).

Considering the photos I've seen of said facility, I believe it.

Could Rockstar Husqvarna be an option? Husky will be Anderson and Pourcel right? Would be cool, still factory KTM-isch Smile

Didn't pourcel hurt his back again? If so Deano might be good there as the husky and Ktm are pretty much the same

People talk about the results that Stewart put up yet they skip a much younger man putting up comparable results ( Wilson).
