Will Dungey, Tomac and Roczen be tired of their long season next year ?

Not sure ...

You also don't fuck all about his brother, what he thinks or what he feels...

So shut the fuck up about it already.

This race obviously isn't as important as you guys think it is. Otherwise the TEAMS would have
them there racing it. I know that's hard to understand being common sense and all, but do try Wink

A part of me hopes the US dont send a team as a big fuck you to Luongo and the Energy drinks buffoonns that they have crossed the line and the addition of all these inconsequential races has to stop.

Look at this way, as it currently stands you are going to get Monster guys do their races and red bull guys do their races so you are never getting a loaded field, they will always be diluted.

So stop making these guys do races that really have no meaning to them ie SMX (that stupid supercrossmotocrossmanufactures titjob), MEC, Straight Rhythm, even making the US guys do the GP's that they would otherwise have no interest in, probably wouldnt even know they were being held.
Sad as it makes me to say it, I kind of agree...

Unfortunately I think it'd just mean it'd go away until one of these guys puts it on his back and makes it real again like RC did in 03.

I don't expect to see Barcia take the vacated spot. Just a hunch.

Plenty of comments, so I will just say, I am sad that one of our current top riders will not represent our country.

The chance to do so is rare for 99.9% of American racers, and the time frame to be able to do so is fleeting in this sport.

Just a little sad.

Tomac isn't skipping MXDN because e hates America and all this other bullshit I'm reading in the thread the guy needs a fuckin break and he dam well deserves one. The pressure of winning and being prepared probabley never leaves top pros thoughts even in the "off" season. And if he did go, for what? So the same idiots bashing him now can make threads saying how bad he sucked?
So stick a fork in the two for nothing USGPs, Monster Cup, Straight Rhythm and SMX cup.

The MXdN, is the biggest event of the year, look at the photos above. It's literally the 30 year anniversary of the USA domination of the event at that very track where Bailey, Johnson and Omara made history and the sponsors and their BS are literally forcing the riders' hands and ruining what makes MX truly unique.

I mean, who fucking cares about a(nother) flat GP in a stadium?! Or a big watered down SX in another stadium? Aren't they the same thing?

They aren't this!

I hope whoever America sends pulls the shit out of the bag so the guys who didn't go watch the (probably) Rockstar guys do what's right.

Oh snap.

Btw, this started at Lommel 2012. That was the beginning of these kind of opinions.

The fact that US riders didn't get paid when USA absolutely DOMINATED the des Nations for 7 years didn't bother anyone here, right? But now it does. Suddenly people here think that riders get screwed when they don't get paid for racing the Olympics of MX.

Except in this case the video game still had tons of appeal when you were completing every time. Then it wasn't quite the same when it suddenly became a bit more difficult

According to Matthes A-Mart is going to be the 250 rider on the team. I think that is the best decision.

He has been at MXdN(Puerto Rico) before and he will ride balls out for USA.

I think it's more the fact that the riders are starting to prioritise (or are contractually obliged to participate in) commercially driven vanity projects like RedBull Straight Rythm and new SMX Cup over the one annual event that the whole Motocross world has been coming together for since 1947.

I don't even think it's the riders.

It's fuckin Red Bull and Monster in a dick measuring contest.

We'll be watching SX year round if Rockstar gets in.

Hold up...

Team USA only dominated those years because they raced both MX and SX, it resulted in a better all round rider and SX in particular gave them the technical edge. Fast forward to now, SX is the devil, GP riders practice moto all year round.

Heard it all on Vital!

However, professional athletes have a lot of commitments year round. One thing you wont see is the time they put in during the off season. Being the type of athlete Tomac is you know he is physically training year round as well. You guys act like they don't still ride and train in October, November, and December, which are the only months they are "off" other than September, which Eli looks have some races lined up in both September and October.

While it is a bummer I can't blame him either,

Pro athletes in basketball are either playing during the season or training to get better in the offseason and they still represent America in the Olympics every 4 years and in international competition every year... That excuse goes out the window.
Basketball players play 6 1/2 months of the year full time (including pre-sesason) and then possibly about 2 months if they make the playoffs and keep winning.

Eli will race 8 1/2 months this year full time (with only a few breaks) and then he is racing 2 weekends in October. He will still train year round. I don't blame him, if I were him I would tell SMX and Monster Cup to suck it.

Also, Olympics is once every 4 years, not every year, little bit of a difference there and the Olympics is more glorified, would be cool to see mx in the olympics.

Maybe or maybe the mxdn doesn't hold the appeal that you all hope. The Olympic Games happen every 4 years, things like the Ryder cup are every other year. It's quite possible these guys are sick of giving up a month of their year for this race that happens every single year.

So instead they'd rather use this time to make potentially quite a bit more money which is really the reason they now ride their dirt bikes 300 days a year

Why does it take a month??

How long does it take to get ready to do that thing you have been doing all year?

Not sure ...
I guaran-damn-tee you that Dungey and Tomac will both be at the MXDN next year (if healthy.) Why? Because they know they'll win Glen Helen. Same goes for Roczen.

I'm angry right now. Tomac is my favorite rider. Dungey is my second favorite rider. I've lost something for Tomac. I honestly thought he would be the last person to back down from the MXDN.

Honestly, I wasn't surprised at Roczens decision. I'm not really sure why, but I consider Roczen an AMA guy and almost a part of the United States. Sounds stupid, I know. But Tomacs decision just blows me away.

Barcia most likely isn't going. AMart and JMart aren't going most likely. I still have hope that Webb will go. If he pulls out we are done.

Here's the thing, if we send Webb, Millsaps and Savatgy and either win or podium what does that say about the USA? I would say it would end the argument of who has the best riders since we didn't send our top guys. Honestly, sending Millsaps and Savatgy and winning would make me more happy, excited and proud than if Dungey, Tomac and Webb won. God damn, imagine that team next year at Glen Helen.
