I know it's not mx related but seriously, just look at it. It looks amazing! They will do the full revealing at the Austian GP this weekend and they will participate in the training sessions!

not going to happen that the bike will look anything like this (color scheme) once they hit the races. but yes, it looks great like it is shown here.

No i don't think that they have released any info on it.

The full unveiling is supposed to be this weekend at the Austrian GP. I guess we'll know more about it by then!

Will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the already established manufacturers in that class.
KTM seem to do pretty well nowdays with whatever they make and seem more than capable of matching or possibly even surpassing the big Japanese marques. Gonna be interesting to see how it works out.
Who will be the riders to race it?

I believe their laptimes during the last Moto GP test were within 1.5 seconds of the top team's times. It's coming along, I'm excited to see them give it a go.

The bike we'll see this weekend will be a very bright orange with lots of Red Bull signage and related colors.

Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro have been signed to race it.

It reminds me of one of the most beautiful 500cc 2 stroke GP bikes ever made, the Cagiva raced by John Koscinski.
That KTM has the trellis steel frame as they're no fools when it comes to the need for some chassis flex.

FYI, the bike will BE RACED as a wild card at the final GP in Valencia...

Fantastic really how KTM have returned from the dead over the last few decades.
Weren't they nearly bust and out of business in the the 80's and had to get bailed out by Austrian Government help or something? I maybe wrong but thought I read this somewhere.

Quite a comeback really, especially against the might of the Japanese and seriously taking it to them.

P.s , Bradley Smiths(one of the new KTM pilots of this bike it seems) Dad, Allan, used to be a pretty good motocrosser here in the UK back in the day I remember, mainly youth class. Won at times, seem to remember.

They are the only team running a steel trellis frame and WP suspension in motogp all other are aluminium and Ohlins. I can understand why they would do a steel frame because that's a KTM trademark but the WP suspension is interesting (yes I know that ktm owns WP and is also another one of their trademarks) but Ohlins has a virtual strangle hold on gp racing and has by far the best product and most experience while WP is almost non existent in road racing. Seems a bit ambitious in that respect.

The WP suspension has been pretty good in Moto2 though. Johann Zarco won the title last year on WP suspension!

Yes and they have even running WP on the moto3 bikes since ktm has fielded a team in the junior class but put that against Ohlins an they are still beginners, also stark contrast to the kit they run in moto2 & moto3 compared to Motogp. But they gotta start somewhere. racing improves the breed, maybe we will see Ohlins up their game wich means better products filter down to us eventually.

True, Öhlins will probably be superior for awhile but like you said they have to start somewhere!

Speaking of starting somewhere I wonder when Mahindra will step up a class, currently they are only in Moto3 but so is Ktm until next year (also going to be running a Moto2 team, curious to now if the rules have changed or if they will run one of the spec Honda engines)

I see a familiar story with Mahindra and KTM. Both started in the junior class to hone their race craft and knowledge of gp racing, KTM has been doing it longer and are now ready to show off what they have learnt. Would be good to see another challenger especially an Indian manufacturer (next powerhouse of the world??) don't see much promise with Pugeot tho don't know much about the team if they are running Pugeot engines or farming them out to someone else. Never hear anything from them.

Wp suspension is shit, just ask Dunge, Marv and Kenny.

Production stuff might be harsh but factory level is the ducks guts.
