It shows that he dropped out on lap 5,reason unknown at this time. That would give him a 35 place finish in the second moto.

Well I was not far off with a 10-DNS. I figure he is about 5 points shy of keeping the # 7.

11 points today. 10 from supy. 8 motos to go and he should be able to get it done if he makes a few more starts.

So you're saying he got married in '09 , that was a well kept secret.
Gotta give him credit for keeping that out of the media

Since '09: Bike brands have changed, tv shows forgotten, injuries healed, big foot returned to the mountains of thunder valley, ped suspensions lifted, babies born... What else is it???

"James Stewart's Big Off-Weekend
JUNE 26, 2008
What did James Stewart, the leader so far in the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championships, presented by FMF, do on his off-weekend? Stewart asked his longtime girlfriend Brianna Chavarria to marry him by dropping down on one knee and presenting her with a diamond engagement ring. Brianna said yes. The two have been dating since late 2003. No date has been set for the wedding.

Well done, James! Congratulations to you and Brianna and both of your families, from everyone here at Racer X"

After 24-0. Signs 1 year sx deal with San Manuel, wins title, then disappears for the summer. Hasn't been the same man since

It has merit, but I don't really believe that... Just another excuse to throw in the hat of excuses.

Most likely a combination age and years of punishment catching up to him.
Highlight reel of gnarly wrecks + a lot of miles on the body.. The older he gets, the slower he gets up.
Hopefully he stays healthy. I'm totally cool with never seeing JS7 hit the ground for the rest of his career.

Guys been off the bike most of the year. It's going to take a bit to get back into race shape.
P.S. No amount of training can get you in race shape. Only racing.

As one sits and reviews the days events, and mixes in what little one knows of life in general,
a question comes to mind.

Can the results achieved, during the period of unbridled youth, in this sport, be had again under different
circumstances and motivations?

Could the steel, calculating journeyman, dispense with the issue at hand, as he has in the past, with a less sharp set of tools, but with a stronger motivation and mindset?

Some may see today's events as a letdown. Business as usual. It's the way it is.

But, lest we not forget, many a man will give his life to protect and provide for a family.
They will adapt, they will work their ass off, they will do what needs to be done as a breadwinner.

To know ones limits, to think long term, and accept and act on them is a sign on maturity, a sign of a man.

Who knows, we may be witness to the beginning, of the second chapter in one mans life.

I'm thinking it's a continuation of the 2nd chapter that people refuse to acknowledge He even started the one where He doesn't complete races for what ever reason. That is not the example of a Man fending for his family.
The chapter you speak of obviously hasn't started yet.

I've stuck up for Stewart for so long. I think he gets way too much BS, even though some is deserved. I can't stand how keyboard warriors act like his doctor.

That being said, I really hope he didn't pull off for fucking blisters. Don't get me wrong... Blisters can be horrible, but suck it up!

A top 10 in this depleted field is not solid, sorry.

Gotta start somewhere, everyone's been there when your blisters finally pop, you can barely hang on, with James' history of wrecks it's probably better if he pulled off rather than having terrible grip on a rough sand track. It sucks because he once again didn't manage to finish the day, but I understand why. After being off the bike for so long I'd bet his callouses are all but gone, everyone knows it takes time to build up that palm again.

Nothing more hilarious than watching a bunch of bums bash professional athletes.

Stew did well considering his age and how much has happened to him this year.

Carry on.

I watched Stew pull off in the 2nd moto, no crash, just pulled right off after the finish line. No idea why

Somebody in his camp should've known to wrap his hands with Elastikon.

Otherwise, I thought his first moto was ok considering the past few years. He will go faster if he continues to race.

Hey, I'm no shrink.
But, I have worked with and employed some wild dudes in my time.
Some, just kept on living like a guy 2 years out of high school and are dead now.
Some got married, had a kid or 3 and it transformed them.
He's prime time for it, what did he tweet, something like holding his kid was a life changing event, something like that.

The fact be accepted a mid pack finish, and sucked it up in #2, instead of pushing it and making the mistake with loss of hand grip like he did earlier in the season, is the reason it's on my radar.

Can a guy keep up with this game, with different reasons and abilities, is the thing I find interesting.
Most quit this show well before his age.
The reason he's still wanting in the hunt, I'll let others speculate on that.

Me, being an old fuck that sometimes doesn't know when to quit, well, let's just say I've got my own reasons for pulling for good things for him in the future.

So only people who have played the sport they're commenting on are allowed to express their observations of said sport?

Heck no, only you are the one that limits the voice of subject you project.
Sure, lack of actual experience is always gonna be ammo for those that have actually done it.
But hey, besides yelling FIRE in a theatre, you have every right to speak your mind.

Never stopped Howard Cosell.

That's total bullshit.

Somebody who's watched many races can tell when a rider is riding well, or he's off, or he looks out of shape.

Also any fan of the sport can say whatever they damn well choose.

That's a two way street – if you've never ran 10th at a national you can't say anything supportive either as you don't have experience to say how easy or hard it is.

As far as the soccer deal – ignoring the blatant disrespect for people who have dedicated their entire lives to their passion – I dare you to jump into a pro-level game and last.

If they didn't know he needed a Tue for drugs containing amphetamine then I highly doubt they can wrap hands.

Who's in his camp anyway, and what do they do?

Sounds like they couldn't find their penis for a piss.

I don't think criticism and respect are mutually exclusive.

Lonely and angry because I'm also a victim of it.
Shit hits the fan after the wedding... everything changes... they go crazy... start howling at the moon

Here's a graph explaining what usually happens
