He broke his collarbone in Germany last year too, but won a moto in Sweden just two weeks later. I doubt this will have any impact on his series lead at all, let alone his ability to win the title.

One thing I question though is whether he compensates for the injury the next time he rides and then starts to make more mistakes, like last year. Time will tell, but it's a bummer.
We have a saying in the Injury Rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning professions that goes like this.

THE MOST COMMON REASON FOR AN INJURY IS A PREVIOUS INJURY.

When your kid starts overriding his 80 and crashing it's time to move him up to the 125.
It's a safety thing.

IMO, Herlings will continue to crash on the 250f because his skill set allows him to override that bike.

Most of us will never know what that's like because we don't have that skill set.

IMO It's time for him to move up and it has been time for him to move up for a long time. I just hope the damage he has done to himself on the smaller bike does not ruin him when he gets on the bigger bike.

Look it up, boys, he's not allowed to race in MX2 next year. Rules have changed.
^^^^This. You guys are so retarded and i'm not a Herlings fan. I know you were on this very forum last week and it was everywhere.

Do you suck herlings off in every thread?

Jesus.

Its no ones fault but his own that he has been a pro for 6-7-8 or however many years and is still in the 250 class. His fault for injury after injury.

I cant wait to see him move up next year and get smoked by Gajser if hes still in MXGP.

If not febvre will give him a run as well.

Is that guy a bad ass? Of course, is he the best to ever do it? we dont know yet because hes in MX2!

The guy is light speed faster than anyone else......things are coming at him pretty fast, that's why others ride slower!

Everyone is glad he doesn't ride a 450, and the benefit of the GPs is he gets weeks to heal

Well as much as he is faster than anyone else in the 250 class by a country mile, that doesnt necessarily mean he will kill in it a very strong 450 class in mxgp, yes I have seen footage of him riding a 450....but I think it will take him a year to top the 450 class ....yes Gajser is killing it after 250's but he was a bit too big for a 250 anyway, the 450 suits him better.

That is not hating on Herlings, I just think he wont find it that easy in the 450 class.

Not arguing your overall point but if Gajser is too big for a 250 then he would be too big for a 450.

Solid risk for the screws to pull out and the plate to migrate if he gets back at it too quickly.

Dudes that fracture or don't break the collarbone all the way I can see roughing through the pain but once surgery is required he's gotta be out for atleast 6-8.

But these guys are animals. There muscle mass and tendon and ligaments are so freaking tight makes me wonder if he could race with a shattered collarbone. In comparison it would be like me riding with a sore shoulder.

wouldn't be surprised to see him lining up this weekend.
even injured like this he could wrap up the title before heading to the u.s. gp's

In MX2....yes he is.

In MXGP...for a full season....no he has not. He hasn't proved jack shit. I think at your sand tracks he'll be about unbeatable. On the " real dirt " MX tracks , I think guys like Gasjer , Febvre , and a healthy AC222 , Nagl , GP21 and CD25 will give him a series long battle that will be tougher than what he ( and his fans ) think they will.

All this shit talk about putting him up on a pedestal as the fastest guys ever....seriously cracks me up. Over all the years this sport has been alive , there have been many , many lites / MX2 guys that dominated , only to wake the fuck up and realize just how hard the big boy class is over a full season.

I do believe he is a phenomenal rider , very special indeed. But until he moves up and starts killing everyone in the MXGP.....I'm not one of those guys who will lift him up onto that pedestal.

he ran 2sec a lap faster than gajser at the last gp. I don't think jumping on a faster bike will slow him down. but of course he has to prove it once he moves up. can't wait...

I wasnt comparing Gajser to Herlings nor was I saying Herlings would better suit a 450 because of his size

I guess its what you want to read into it eh?

And that's just it....he has to prove it first. I'm sure he'll be extremely fast....but will he keep it on two wheels all season? Will he adapt to riding that 450 as well as he did the 250? Like I was saying....tons of strong MX2 riders moved up and never really did much. Then you get a guy like Febvre who was a top 5 guy in MX2....and the 450 made him shine. He just rides it better.

I had also heard that the Garibaldi Honda Gasjer was riding in MX2 was pretty under powered compared to some of the guys he had to race against. Now ( just like Febvre )....the 450's have all the power a rider needs. It boils down to the rider.

The thing is no one knows for sure how he will do when he moves up , did anyone expect Fevbre and Gasjer to do so well, not beating Herlings that many times in Mx2 , but Searle not to even podium having beat Jeffrey multiple times! ( Yes I am a Searle fan by the way, and bitter about it!)

You wanna know how slow Gajsers 250 Honda was? Take a look at this video...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRDvxBMGOo0

then take into consideration that he is still a teenager....gaining speed al the time....while Herkings is...what 25?

So...for everyine thinking Herlings will dominate 450.....you are in for a surprise...

You're right, that bike in the video is horrible, but I bet you that isn't his racebike. Or atleast I saw him going faster at about every race last year while letting of the gas in the corners.
And people seem to forget that Jeffrey is only 2 years older than Tim. He has plenty of time to get faster himself. With that said, I just hope Honda stacks their US team and throws a bunch of money on keeping Tim in Europe for a year or two more, because it would be epic to see these two go at it in MXGP.

searle had some 13 wins by the age of 23(mx2 career, he is 27 now) herlings is 22 years and has 53 or there about. you don't win 53 gp's by accident. I like searle but when he was beating herlings, searle had his experience to his advantage. no trying to take anything away from him at all.
but seeing guys like febvre and gajser moving up and start winning straight away is what makes mxgp so awesome to follow right now because it seems anything can happen.

Jeffrey is 21. He's born on the 12th of september 1994.
He'll turn 22 this autumn.

I think he will be another JS, fast, but won't be able to keep it on 2 wheels and the injuries will take their toll on him. That pace is not sustainable ...

I agree. How many times a race do you think someone riding a bike that far on the edge comes close to eating shit. Least a few times. Caught a bad bump here. Almost clipped a slow rider there. Stretch that out over 34 motos. Chances get pretty ugly of crashing. Can't believe Carmichael ran that shit on the ragged edge so long without getting hurt more. It's doable but it's gonna be tough. Esp throwing 15-20 more horsepower between his legs. Gajser is riding the edge pretty well. Surprised he hasn't had more get offs. Esp with those mind blowing scrubs. Saw what happened to Tomac last year when he was on that next level. Takes a lot of concentrating and flat out luck to go that much faster than everyone else so close in talent. It'll be fun to watch how it goes for sure!

Gajser went over the edge multiple times last year on a piece of shit bike. That is why his MX2 title was surprising in my opinion(Bad bike and multiple big crashes/close calls that could've ended his season).

He was a bit more calm on the 450 in the beginning this season and that was the main factor that has been so amazing to watch. Although he has had a few really close ones on the 450 mid season.

I still think Herlings will manage to ride a 450 "better" than the small bike because lets be honest here. You can't go faster on a 250 than what Herlings is going at the moment, at least not in a fairly safe manner.

Well 2017 will be an awesome year for the GPs.

So Gajser and Febvre move up to instantly win a title and Herlings will struggle with the big bike and "real competition"?

Yes, because he can't ride a big bike apparently.
