Not a big fan of them going to that shot looking up at Shane and shrinking everything on the screen in the process. Either do picture in picture the right way or just forget about that crap. Reminds me of watching the friggin Blair Witch Project.

It's the only view that won't get immediately covered in roost

I dig it. I think it's cool for non-riders to see how brutal this sport actually is on the body (from long shots you really don't see anything).

I think that was the primary reason. Every other conventional camera location would've provided about 15 seconds of clear footage after the gate drop.

I think it'd be cool to have a GoPro on the back fender so you can see the guy behind getting pelted with roost and just how gnarly it is. Would be cool to see someone holeshot with it back there, too.

Let's go to the Crotch cam sponsored by Fram so we can see what it would be like to ride from the view point of a real dick!

How many times do we need to show how tear offs work with Georgia.

But where is that angle of his crash? The one time it would be a good angle besides for the Go Pro/Red Bull/ KTM logo on the jersey.

I'll have to dissent, I think that angle is absolutely sick. I was pretty shocked at how brutal and demanding it is at that level. And anybody who doesn't know the sport well can see that view and they will never ever say "the throttle does all the work". I hope go pro makes a commercial out of it.

That's the shot. Put a huge GoPro sticker on the lens, I don't care.

They should be using Georgia before the racing starts to talk about roost protection and goggles. There is plenty of time for her to do her 30 seconds of work. Also, The camera on the bike is cheesy at best.

And why they show the holeshot replay at the 25 min mark of the race baffles me. DC must not have any control of this because he has been on TV enough to know better.

Its just a paid promo for Redbull and Go Pro right? Once a race was enough. I like the Go Pro at the start and the first few laps in mx and sx with the standard helmet mount. It was great when GoPro would post the vids a day or two after the race.
Edit*' I meant the Go Pro views are great, just not live when you have all the action of the race going on. Maybe promote their website to have fans watch the GoPro vids.

I actually thought it was really cool. Gave a clear view of how much lean angle those guys are carrying through the turns, where they're looking etc. As long as they keep the split view I'm all for it.

Although I hate the recent go pro shot(mostly because they only seem to show it when the race has something interesting going on.) I will say that it has helped show the lean angle these guys have in corners is straight up insane!

The sponsors know that any promo before or after the racing will be skipped/and or ignored by the viewer. Show it in the middle of the race and you are going to watch them waiting for race coverage to resume.

Its a pointless camera angle and they keep on it way too long. What they need is a drone flying over head right above the riders.
