Hi there I am after nos parts for my yz 125 1987. Brought it a few years ago and just spent a little bit on it so I cld get it up and running to do a few evo races, but now I'm looking to restore it to better condition, also after pro circuit front pipe. Any info will be very helpful

I have two 88 yz125's that I will also be rebuilding so I'm in the same boat. Both of mine are in bad shape so the hope is to make one bike out of the two. Good luck on your build.

Chesterfield graphics look good on anything. It makes me want to smoke cigarettes.
How were the 87 yzs compared to the other bikes?

They take a lot of stick online (suspension, brakes etc) but mine is an absolute blast to ride but it should be for the amount of money i've dumped into it

I can't agree more. Even though mine is not finished and is a little older (85) I had Eric Gorr do the motor and I've been able to test it in a small flat field and it moves right along. The B.A.S.S. shock was a big problem for me. Forks with Emulator are next and supposedly are a big improvement. Bike looks great Pike. If you keep in mind that your riding and racing a "time capsule" I find a greater appreciation of the Bike.

I must admit I love riding mine, I've got a crf250 2015 model as well and I prefer the yz lol, lucky my yz came with the online rear shock, jus need to upgrade the springs in the forks and I think set up wld b perfect. I'm surprised how comfy they r to ride.

Im not a Yamaha fan, but I clearly remember drooling over those red and white YZs lined up in front of the dealership. Really like your Chesterfield bike!

Thanks. I never had any intentions of getting a yamaha until a mate of mine had a 1989 yz 125 and i enjoyed riding it so much i thought id get myself a yam plus wen u go to all these evo meetings everyone has a honda or kx so i thought id get something different

Ya by chance I stumbled on a 92 125 I'm doin as a "fresh racer" and I Love all the old CR's but had 6? yamis back in my day and I'm glad I went w/ something different as well. The difference in quality / performance ( if CR's were soooo much better) can be made up w/ an adjustment of testicle size at corners I would think. Anything you think does not exist can prob be had at "Speed and Sport Yamaha" PA, USA. If they don't have it, Cindy will find it. Not sure of int'l shipping, but cust serv is awesome. Block inventory from the wife!! Bike looks great. Cheers, Mark

Cool bike... Riding MX Glover Style era colors... We have a 1994 YZ125 in the stable also. Really like the 87.

Front spindle clamp i machined as the original one had seen better days.
