Predictions for Chad Reed

I would like to see him battle with Townley. How cool would that be?
It's not even that unrealistic, they could be very close speedwise.

Provided he has stayed in shape since SX ended I think he can go top 10 overall for sure. Can't imagine he would be doing these races if he felt unprepared. I know it's a Monster commitment but hopefully he is taking it seriously. Chad Reed 2011 nationals come to mind.

a happy, having fun Reed is a dangerous Reed, but between 5th and 10th would be a good day out

The last time Chad lined up against the GP crew he didn't make it 50 meters before going down hard, he's no younger or better prepared now

What do you guys think? I think he will have a hard time and finish outside the top 15. That would be kind of normal, because of the fact that Chad didn't race a lot of outdoors the last few years. But You never know with great riders like him.

He could get in the top 10 if everything goes well. More likely top 15 his first time out.

Hard to tell. 1st race outdoor this year, not great last year. I hope I am wrong but I dont think we will see the 22 from 2011 who here would battle for the podium ! In MXGP, the pace between top 5 up to top 13-17 is pretty close, they are all fast, all factory riders. So a top 10 is already impressive. Top 5, no. Highly probable: 8-13 (if he has a top 10 qualification race), for 9th overall.

A fact, but it was not his fault, just watch the clip.
His 14th position in the first moto is what you should bring up to better back your case.

Reedy 2011 would be battling for a win even. I hope a good result for him, but top 10 is going to be hard.

Being 10 years younger will make the guy that crashed in front of him keep his bike straight?
You got a lot to learn still, bro.

He is a smart guy/rider. He picked these two rounds for a reason. Knowing reed his mind set is he can win. I predict a top 3 overall from him. Just think of all the times you guys think he is done, and bam he's fighting for wins. Just think he has 2 weekends... timed practices, qualifying motos, and 4 motos. He will have them figured out.

2-1

Nah, I already agreed with a top 5 one moto, top 10 overall. But I wouldn't be surprised with something like a 4-6.

I don't think Reed will be at his 2011 level, just that he's been in a good place this year and could surprise some people who have forgotten about his talent. He's had some time to rest up and maybe that's a good thing for him at this point, look how he started the SX season.

I'd expect him to finish close to where I think he would be in an AMA national. 11-19 for a 14 O/A

I'm thinking 10-12. Right about where he'd be in the AMA MX series.

Outside top ten, the field is deeper than last year, his age, New environment etc is going to be tough.
