Which of you old men plan on being at Unadilla on the weekend of June 12th?
I have zero seat time since last season.but that's what morning practice is for
I've been waiting 364 days for this weekend again. Look for most likely the only 83 KX125 and a backwards hat old man walking a golden retriever. If you are even thinking about it I hope you go. When I'm there I get this feeling of this is where I'm supposed to be. The promoter runs that event with little problems, the track is safe and I haven't found anyone there to ride to be nothing but friendly.
I hope Mike P takes a minute from building bikes and comes up to ride or at least be there.

Sunday was overcast, cold, windy, but no rain! Track was very nice -- they really didn't till it up much because of the rain but the very large turnout of bikes worked the track in very nicely. Very fun!
Bruce Stratton and Todd DeHoop were having great battles all day. Hucking the skyshot table and all that on the old bikes, fun to watch. Chuck Sun, Rodney Smith, Dick Burleson, Barry Higgins were some of the other names there.
I completely drilled a guy in the start of a Pre-Millenium moto, hope he's ok. Had a good start, and two of the guys right near the lead tangled and guy on KX highsided and his body shot like a rocket right under my wheels. I basically rode ride over top of him. I asked people after the race and they said he was up and walked off but didn't get back into the race. I'm sure he's super sore today but hope that's all! The guy he tangled with actually broke his foot in the collision but didn't realize it until the end of the day when he took his boot off!
Bruce and Todd did have some great battles! Rodney Smith joined in on a couple as well. JoJo Keller and Arlo Anglond(spelling?) were also there but did not ride.
During Saturday mornings storm Arlo and his wife took shelter in my rig. He had some great stories of his time on team Husqvarna, riding the automatics in the late 70s touring with Chuck Sun and later his team PDQ days with Jimmy Ellis and Tommy Croft.
Pit Row
It was the first time I got to ride my bike hard since TMR tweaked the cylinder. It felt like a 200. The same for the Noleen shock. It worked unbelievable!
I hadn't had seat time since October. Yet I felt darn comfortable.
I'm always humbled by a large out of shape guy riding fast on a sun faded pos machine. And I saw many yesterday.
I feel the promoter runs a tight ship. The gate guys were right on top of classes w split gate drops. The track was worked perfectly and most fellow racers were friendly as can be.
By time we got in and in bed it was time to wake for work. So I have not slept yet. Im a cranky prick at work today. I had so much fun. I wish it were a week long like the Mini Os
Sunday conditions were a lot better, man the track was fast.
I saw the #67 and I was like I know that number but I couldn't place it.
Are you racing Allens Farm?
We had a RM ONLY PIT, 7 FULL FLOATERS @ UNADILLA
After a few days and some sleep I can give my honest recollection of the weekend.
I didn't have to ride in Saturday rain, but I was prepared.i wait all year for this weekend and im not going to let nothing ruin it. If I had to ride mud then I was going to bring extra gear and have fun in the slop.
The track formed perfectly for my rapid fire Sunday motos. I had some great clean racing against big bikes in the age classes and my friend Chris in the 125 class. The event was put together perfectly. Saw beautiful old machinery. By wife won me a set of 100% goggles answering Bevos trivia. My dogs even had a great time. I'm happy to be part of this sport with so many of my peers that share the same passion for old mx bikes From Friday to Sunday I could not have had any more fun. And those are some big words.
Thanks Ahrma for holding this event.
