I've never wanted Tomac to get a hole shot more than I do right now...

Roczen's form thus far in the series has been a thing of beauty to watch...but if I were racing him, it would be hard to go to the line thinking I could beat him.

you watch kr and the other riders and he's in another league imho, can he do it next year on a Honda, to me thats the real question. no ones got anything for him this year

To me it seems it takes guys 2 years to become 1 with the bike... Look at Eli who (LOVED) the Kawi right off the bat outdoors he said a year ago. For the first 3 moto's it looks like the bike wanted to do one thing and he wanted to do something else up until race 2 in HPoint...

There's the million dollar question.

Nee team, new bike. It's not like 09 when the Honda sucked and McGrath helped fix it. Will be interesting.

I'm also not saying the 17' will suck. Only that it's new.

I do think ET, TC and Seely showed great speed last week. I don't know why they fade at the end of the moto, don't think it's fitness... could very well be the bike needs to be raked out more so they don't pump up....

not sure what race you have watched but if you check the laptimes of moto 2, kenny was the fastes guy for the first 6 laps. from lap 7 tomac was faster then kenny (and probably anyone else) but the last lap where he basically just went for a cruise. if tomac gets a start, my money will be on him.

sozo wrote:
The beginning of the race TC and Seely looked good... I have to check the laptimes I guess...
everyones laptime dropped, tc and seely never had the pace of roczen in the first place at any stage of the race. only tomac actually put in faster laptimes than kenny as mentioned before but by then it was already to late.

Tomac is about to come alive. I believe he will make it a very interesting season. It would have been better with Dungey in it but, it's a long way from over. Don't give it to Roczen just yet.

Tomac will win the title. Remember when him and Roczen were on lites and KR was winning in the opening rounds and then Tomac wore him down and won the title?

Tomac is one of the hardest working riders,..but Roczen has tons of natural talent and a very nimble fast bike.

Eli won't get within 30secs with the green mule,....Tomac will have his hands full with Canard and Anderson,..and Benjamin Button, if he makes it back soon

Eh...you might want to watch the 450's, moto 2 at Thunder Valley again. Eli closed the gap to within about 10 seconds of Roczen at the end. And that was with Eli starting out about 15th, not to mention Eli dropping the fastest lap time late in the moto, which is always a good sign.

I don't think the lap times at the end of the race are an indication that Eli has the speed to beat Kenny. He was out front, by himself, and all he had to do was keep his bike upright for a sweep on the day. If it became necessary, I think Kenny would be able to match whatever Tomac is able to bring. This could change over time, but Roczen is really grooving outdoors this season. He'll win half of the remaining motos, or more, barring injury. The starts are really killing Eli.

By the time Eli got into 2nd, he was 13 seconds down. He really didn't gain much time from there. Even if he did, I don't think Roczen would have been concerned.

Roczen's got them all covered. His training since the Dungey news was likely Del Taco and Mad Skillz MX.

That wasn't my point of the post. The 2nd moto from Eli was his best so far. Sans the starts, the old Eli is starting to emerge. Yes, it is Roczen"s championship to lose now and is on fire, but let's not say it is all over just yet.

94 rolling with 3 improving.
My bet is that it is 21 that finds something more because of this.

I think Kenny has not raced full speed all 6 moto's long this far so i think he can handle pretty much anything at this time he has been always in control so far

Yeah, but that is perfect for all the Roczen nut-huggers and the excuse making machine that is KR himself. Next year it will be their reasoning for him not winning (should that happen?). I think he'll be just fine. Bottom line is that dude flat hauls ass when he is having fun. He just needs to find a way to keep that mentality. Bit of a head case sometimes. But as Matthes loves to say, they are all delicate little flowers.

i just hope we will see some good racing. the great thing about the roczen vs tomac battles is that both seem to have a different approach. kenny likes to go out and hammer down 5,6 fast laps to get a comfortable lead and maintain it to the end while eli doesn't seem to worried about that. he likes to stay behind the leader for at least half the moto and play his fitness card towards the last 5,6 laps and just drops the hammer. he almost seems to enjoy to hunt down whoever is infront of him. let's hope we will see some of those battles again.

He's been in control that for sure, but I think he's shown all he has speed wise in the opening laps of the moto's. His sprint speed in the first few laps has been off the charts fast, and if he'd holeshot every moto and then won I think you might have a point...but he's had some poor starts where he's had to pass several guys (several FAST guys) in the opening laps...and coming through the pack like that I have a hard time thinking he'd leave much on the table.

But at this point, he has a 50 point lead on Tomac already? (48, 49 points, maybe?) And obviously has him covered in the speed department...I think that kind of cushion and confidence will lead to a slightly more conservative 94 for the rest of the season...

Yeah, KR has looked amazing so far this season...but he has a history of fading in the Eastern heat/humidity. I'm not saying that he can't dominate, but if he might have a rougher time keeping guys like Canard & Anderson off his backside in the upcoming part of the season since those guys train in that stuff all the time in Florida & Oklahoma.

Canard and Tomac need to get their shit together. This is a rare chance. Kenny's great but he isn't as consistenly solid as the Dunge. He makes mistakes and history shows he usually slumps mid-season.

From where I was sitting watching the race at Thunder Valley There were three riders who looked very fast. Dungey, Tomac, and Seeley. Roczen is smooth, not David Bailey smooth, but very fluid. He doesn't look as fast as Tomac or Dungey though. Its just that smooth doesn't look fast for some reason. Seeley looked fast when he reeled Canard in during the second moto.

It would appear that unless Tomac or one of the other top five guys catches fire, or Roczen wads it up or his bike breaks, this championship is over.

Playing Devil's advocate here, but without Dungey, is there a chance Kenny loses focus ever so slightly and the others close the gap?

You guys remember in 2004 when RC was out with an ACL and ever the opportunist Windham smelt blood, caught on fire and got close to taking the title? I believe that was the year Reed was doing a lot of partying too. haha. (Can JT chime in here?)

Im expecting to see a 2004 Windham'esq inspired charge from Eli.
