Imo putting out a 10 year old bike such as the YZ 2-strokes is sort of ok if their msrp reflects that.

Parts for those things have to be so cheap for Yamaha after 10 years of production runs.
Sell those things for 5K and watch them fly.

DON'T trick the casual dirtbike buyer into thinking you have spent 5 minutes this last decade trying to make these bikes better while asking 7K+ for them.

You must have read a different spec than I did.
They have changes from the intake, cams, valves to the exhaust, all aimed towards more mid and top.

Edit: sorry I read your post wrong, I have no clue about twostrokes. How can I delete my post?

KTM introduced electric start on their 450 in 2007... 10 years later, the other manufacturers still haven't gotten it. Surprising.
And in 2000 on their off-road 4 strokes...

Oh, awesome! Let's hear your reviews of the 2017 ktm's, you guys clearly have had experience with them, right? Can you go a little further into detail on how the suspension on the new ktm's is "dogshit" and "garbage"?

Oh look! The same YZ85 since 2002. Way to go Yamaha. I guess we ride KTM's like everyone else next year.............I'll give Kawi a small amount of props for at least attempting to update their 85 but it's still a pile of crap..........Odd that only KTM cares about the younger riders...........

I haven't ridden a 17 yet but have ridden a 16. love the bike but the forks suck ass. I love the fact ktm is trying to improve there bikes. most of my buddies have spent around 2200 to fix the ktm suspension and some just say eff it and bought cone vale for 5k. we have a lot of yamis too. I wish they do more and try and keep up but they are good bikes. I was hoping Yamaha would step up the 125 in the motor dept so KTM doesn't take over yet another class. im glad we are off ktm s watxhing my friends constantly fixing those bikes every dam weekend. doesn't matter what size its always something I think they are great bikes for the weekend warriors

Yamaha has proven that looks don't matter when it comes to dirt bikes.

And it's STILL ultimately based on the 1993 to a large degree, no?
When I was a kid, they were crucified for turning out the same bike less BNG for 5 or 6 straight years.

5K cone valves? I want to be a dealer for that shit! I bought mine used from WP for $2300. New is $3500.

So someone marked them up 1500 or you are talking out of your ass like Ace Ventura.

Dude, I hope you wrote that drunk or typed it from Jr High Study hall. Otherwise STOP.

This is a thread about the new(ish) Yamahas.

CV forks for 5k? Some kind of gold or diamond version of them since the msrp is around 2800€?

I enjoy people telling me how crappy my bike is. It makes me feel better about my riding.

Yeah, it shares a lot with the last generation. You know whats even more sad? It's still more technically advanced than the "new" KX85 in many ways.........What's ironic is mini parents probably spend more than almost anyone else on new bikes. The KTM's sell out pretty much every year and rarely do you see blowouts of leftover stock.............
