I'd like to see Tony go back to the 350 in the position he's in at the minute, he may as well try it

In the mx vice podcast Jeffrey stated he is going to a meeting in Austria this week and we should hear more about next years plans within 2 weeks. He also said he hasn't been in talks with any teams what so ever and that currently he is happy at KTM. Where do you guys make all this silly season gossip up from ?

Some of you guys need to actually read posts.

It's saying Herlings will run under his current team but run a 350/450 in MX1. When it doesn't say. AC222 has his own team, but it is the KTM factory supported team in MX1 at the moment. This is the same team AC has been a part of since he has been in the GP's. They moved with him into GP racing, MX2 career, his move up to MX1, and the change from factory supported Yamaha's to being the KTM factory team.

Edited to add: Or as the article suggests possibly move to Team HRC for MX1.

It pretty obvious de carli/tc have had a pretty significant say over there for quite a long time

I bet they're not putting JH on a husky. It's the orange 450 or some other factory has to buy off his contract.

Herlings doesn't need to ride for the De Carli / TC222 Factory KTM team to ride for "Factory KTM". He can continue to ride on the same team he rides for now, just ride a 350/450.

Herlings to Honda would be weird.. Honda got right now Tim Gasjer. Pointsleader and still a Honda contract. So why drop him? Gasjer and Herlings both on Honda makes no sense at all. Or Suzuki must go after Gasjer and get him and Honda takes Herlings.. i dont see that happen either, same like Gasjer to the USA. Herlings wil stay at ktm under the mx2 tent on a 450 next year.

Me as well. When Villopoto arrived last year it was like he had an "oh shit" moment and decided he needed all the power he could get in order to beat him.

Seeing as how it is his own decision, he must not mind the 450 too much. You probably know more than TC himself though.

You mean Gaiser?

As for Herlings. He's been on 250 for what,... 7 years now? Basically all his life. Smile Technique on 450 is not the same, or will he ride 350 first, like Cairolli, and with hand on clutch all the time. He is a great talent, but I think he will have problems adapting. He was too long on 250, just like Musquin.

You mean GaJser?? Wink

Don't you worry about JH on the 450, he's ridden it a thousand times already in the offseason. Besides, he's a big guy who can manage the bike.

Or do you think he lacks MX talent to adapt to another bike quickly?

Yes, I, and J are the same in Slovenian. Original surname is Gaiser, and in the name of antigerman ideology after the war, most of the German last names were changed to more Slavic. Also my family name.

Herlings will adapt, that is for sure. I'm more worried about his mental preparation, as now he is 100% with his 250 KTM. Will he be so confident on 450, or 350. Maybe 7 years is too long and he could have a little bit of confident issues. And when you are not one with the bike, well...I don't think we will see dominant and smooth Herlings next year, as we see him now.

Musquin is one good example.

Only Castrol Power 1 Suzuki but they're not even close to factory.

Guess again if you think they have a chance of signing Herlings.

The article talked about him making his MXGP debut on a Honda but he's contracted with KTM through 2017 which alludes to him riding MX2 again next year. Whether or not there is any truth to it I have no idea nor do I really care but I can't help but think of this anytime I hear about the kid...

Didn't realize RV was in the Championship, he rode a few one off crap fly away tracks but failed to finish one Moto on a regular GP track.
