Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, rest in peace Mr. Ali. I loved watching him fight, there will never be another like him. Legend all the way.

Both my generation and any that come after it will never truly be able to comprehend just how important Ali was culturally/socially. Nevermind his boxing impact. He was a phenomenal human being and my words wont do him justice.

Humanity took a loss today. A big one. This, so soon after losing Prince.

Fucking lame. Humanity loses Prince & Ali back to back. 2 great human beings.

Meanwhile life is about to hand us Trump or Hillary. 2 huge pieces of shit.

What a cruel universe we live in.

I just saw this in TV. Agree or disagree with him, he was a legend. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

RIP legend! Not only a legend either.....a legend among legends. Sad day for sure. Man that guy was awesome to watch. The talker of all talkers....and could back up every single damn word of it. You'll be missed Ali.

That's when you just throw in the towel. Done. Resign. You got a guy pinned in the corner and can't hit him you're fixing up to get yourself killed. Wow.

Yep very sad day indeed... the real Goat of sports.
He did not want to fight in a war that he did not believe in.

He is quoted as saying he had nothing against those Vietnamese they've done nothing to him why should he go and try and kill them?

He sacrificed 3 years while he was in the prime of his career only to come back and his first fight with Frazier was the first time he hit the deck and lost.

But he came back and twice beat Smokin Joe those were some fantastic fights along with The Rumble in the Jungle against Foreman.

I've seen Ali quite a few times sit courtside at Phoenix Suns games he really liked living here and they named a hospital after him for Parkinson's Disease.

There will never be another one like him may he rest in peace.

He was by most accounts finished, washed up, dreaming, when he said he was gonna reclaim the Championship
from George Foreman.
I mean, at the time, Foreman was a giant, knocking people out left and right like they were insects
Ali was way past his prime, everyone knew it.
Shoot, Foreman just about killed Frazier, and Frazierhad beat Ali.

But he destroyed Foreman, more so with his mind than with his brawn.

He called it "The Rope a Dope".

Foreman was never the same after that fight.

I remember being a kid when Ali made his "comeback" after being reinstated. My uncle was a Vietnam vet and an avid boxing fan. He was at our house for a BBQ and another uncle of mine was railing about Ali. I believe he used a term similar to "that draft dodging ni**er". My first uncle, who I'd never really liked that much before, just about came unglued and nearly kicked uncle #2s ass. He said that Ali was his hero because he'd stood up for his belief and had basically been right, no one shipped over there really had any beef with the Vietcong, they were just fighting for corporate America.

That uncle, and Ali, became somewhat of heroes of mine.
