It's actually pretty simple.....FOCUS.

If you have a million things going on, it's very difficult to find focus. Your mind needs to be on moto and moto only. I think this is the key ingredient that is missing.

At this level, micro-seconds matter. If you fart during a moto, you may lose 1/2 second!

Can't be thinking of what color the new Porsche will be!

I wonder if Justin and I have something in common? I once had a Yamaha, I would look at a line thru a turn and my Yamaha would take a different line, strange, and I thought I was retarded.
I sold Yamaha and fell into a Honda, all of the sudden I could rail any line I wanted, the bike went where I looked....

I get your pain Mr. Barcia.....

The real test will be if Webb can do the impossible and win Monster Energy USA 450 mains on the Yamaha?
I know Webb did the unbelievable on the 450 already, but he has to do it with #3,5,94 on the gate too, and my view is that the Yamaha is fine until you hit Mr. Roczen speed and then it's a problem.
Like Roczen putting Baker Factory on the second step (for the moment), can Webb show Barcia it was in his head?

One thing if for certain, Justin Barcia is a bad ass champion, trust in him.

Also, nobody talks about Kenji Ekuan, he owned the design team responsible for tilted engine design on the Yam.
It is the same guy that designed the Kikkoman Soy Sauce bottle as well as Bullet Trains. Notice how all the current winning bikes have the same basic design in regards to engine placement. I do not know if it was the best idea to hire outside design team for your 5 to10 year YZ-F platform motocross bikes? If a millimeter mattered they moved the engine inches. My vision for the future is a Yamaha with the engine put back in the forward position, time will tell. These design changes require huge changes on the line at the factory and from previous years we know Yamaha usually goes 5-10 years before changing again, the PW50 went 20 years?

It's funny to me that Decoster and team tell KTM to do this and that, and they dominate the previously Japanese dominated SX series. Hello Yamaha? Are you awake? Listen, spend, change, win again, it's simple just ask KTM.
You think Yamaha will go back to a more conventional design? Why? They've won the last THREE 250f shootouts with this new design. They sure as heck weren't doing that before with their, um, "properly-designed" bike. If it's as you say, that the bike is fine until you hit "Roczen speed," then why would you change a design that suits the needs of fully 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 percent of your customers? To please Roczen? He's off to Honda. All this to say nothing of the success Febre is having, a man who, on any day, goes as fast as Roczen does. I think Yamaha will go back to a conventional engine placement right around the time KTM/Husqvarna switch to aluminum frames, which is to say: the twelfth of never.

Barcia's biggest problem right now is that there's no way he could keep up with the Barcia of last year who was on the SAME BIKE. He's get smoked by himself. Why? Heck if I know, but it ain't the bike.

Ability is dynamic, not static. It changes.

Maybe this is just how good Barcia is right now. Maybe his results will improve, maybe they'll get worse. Potential is sort of meaningless in the end.

I never think it is the bike. Maybe I'm wrong. I know plenty of guys, not just in mx, but in all types of motorsport, who have won, even dominated, on inferior equipment.

I'm not talking about guys sitting around having a beer and playing dominoes, I mean it isn't working in the results.

Can you tell me the last time Honda won a 450 championship? Yet, the guy leading the outdoor series at the moment is going to them. Get over it bud, the bike is fine.

To be fair, James may have placed a ton of blame on that machine. Has he really looked all that good since the 09 Yamaha? A couple of flashes on the zook.

DNF happened right in front of me for moto 1.
The bottom of the first turn before the first hill climb. Saw him rolling down over the mound into the turn fast, like the bike was just running and he came in off of momentum. He came to a rolling stop at the apex of the turn on the inside I think, I couldn't hear if his bike was still idling. He must have kicked that yamaha 30 times before he pushed it off the track. kicked it again another 10 or so times, nothing. The bike never popped or even attempted to fire. Thats what i saw! Flame on...

I agree, I do not believe that Yamaha was Stewart's only problem. There is a certain 3 digit guy overseas who makes it look damn good...

That team has proven to be fantastic. Yamaha hasn't had a factory team here and at this point, I think it's fair to question JGR

It's the bike. Comparing 250's to 450's is like comparing apples to pigs. The Yamaha 450 hasn't won anything except for the guy across the pond where the tracks are much "slower"....just ask Villopoto. Our guys get up to speed over here, and that's where the pig gets wild. It's done nothing in Supercross or Nationals except buck off and injure it's victims, starting with JS7 years ago. We know Barcia won a mud race last year...but we know pigs like mud. You can tell Barcia is scared of this thing, I don't blame him. LOL

Yea cause Stewart never crashed on another brand of bike.

It's the rider. Not the bike.

I think so too. I may be wrong, but I think I read that Coy Gibbs was pissed at Yamaha for "stealing" Webb for the 2017 season for their factory team...since JGR had been the closest thing to a Yamaha factory team until then, and Coy was excited about the possibility of getting Cooper when he was available. As it turned out, I'm pretty sure that both Webb & Reedy are less than sorry that they didn't land in the JGR camp instead of the Factory Yamaha one.
