Absolutely, according to team manager Roger Harvey, who says he will have no problem with the change of discipline when he finally makes the move America!

You can see just how highly Roger rates Tim here: Roger Harvey on Tim Gajser

Yep. He can be a second faster in practice and even then I wouldnt bet on him making the top 5 in the race.
Racing SX is a totally different story. Especially when you get thrown into the 450 class. Even in the LCQ you're lining up against factory riders and former champs...

agree , a general manager from HRC would never tell us he cant do SX
lets see when he goes to the USA and races SX ... then we will find out if he is good at SX and capable of good results

Well, fair play to him, if he goes straight in the 450 class, especially if he does it with a mx1 title as well, can't think anyone who has done that off hand!

Does anyone know of a link to read about his life? On the Pulp MX Show, Eric Prenard(?) talked about how he had a rough journey to get to where he is, and he even said there's heart-aching moments.

I really like TG and am looking to learn more about him.

If I can remember correctly, Tortelli came from the premier class in GP to the premier class in the US (250 2 strokes)

Well that shows how little I know, still, I am looking forward to it. I hope he does as well there as he has done here, but it will be a shame to lose him , I have really enjoyed watching the GPS so far this year.

I agree with that and think that is what happened Tonus. Even Roczen took a couple of rounds to bring his practice speed to the races and get the results. But Gajser is very mentally strong and going at a younger age than Tonus, although having to go straight to the 450 class in sx (if he wins MXGP) might be pretty tough in the first year.

The kid is very talented though, I won't back against him to hold his own, I just hope he doesn't get too many injuries like a lot do initially and lose his outdoor speed.

The racing may be good. But where's the quality when Herlings, Ferrandis, Anstie, Seewer etc. leave? Answer- most of it is over 23 and can't race the class

They are coming via Emx125 and Emx2.... Lawrence, Prado, Natzke, Mewse, Olsen, Jonass, Hsu, Renaux, Pootjes, Geerts etc just like where Seewer, Ferrandis, Gajser etc graduated from.

Plus Van Doninck, Bogers, Paturel, Ostland, Petrov, Zaragoza, Herbreteau, Sterry, Watson continuing to improve. Just need the time and experience.

2.5 seconds seperated the best lap of Ferrandis in moto two in Italy with 20th place.

I like gajser but he better smooth it out a bit before racing SX full time, dude rides way over his head sometimes.SX is a whole other beast, crashes are less forgiving .

Well, since the 250 class was already the "premier" GP and AMA classes at the time, I'd say that Bayle, Albertyn, and Tortelli have done it.......

I think Gajser will probably acclimate if he starts racing SX soon, but just out of curiosity, how many AMA SX winners has his team manager managed?

You know what? If anyone from the GP's could come over and do well at SX , I think it would be Tim. The kid is a super talented! Gotta be my Favorite GP rider right now , along with AC and Townley.

If Herlings wasn't in that class....the battle that has taken place from 2nd to 8th in some of those moto's have been incredible to watch. Just think if Herlings was gone and they were all fighting for the win??!! Be freakin' crazy to watch!

I think it was about his family tragedy. His father jumped with his dirt track bike on his older brother, and he died on spot. He was 3 years old, and he hit him with front wheel directly to the head. Zan's (Jean) birthday was on 24.3.

Now you know where the number 243 comes from.

Very sad story, which marked his youth.
