His boss made him race that 85cc race that he broke his femur in.

I really wish he would race Southwick since it's an off week for the GPs. Imagine him racing the 450 class. That would be one hell of an exciting race.

That'll be cool to see.

I really wish we could see Herlings in the US, too!

He was going to race Unadilla two years ago, but he broke his leg the weekend prior to the race. Since then, extracurricular activities have been put on hold, for the record seeking Herlings. The race at Southwick would be the ideal choice if he were thinking about racing an AMA national. His dominance on sand tracks, combined with a less than normal home track advantage for the AMA riders (since most of the pros haven't been there in three years), and the track has undergone considerable changes, including the direction, make this a no brainer. Call me crazy, but I think he could win...both motos...in the 450 class.

Then again, he would also have to win, because of what you just stated, every one would expect him to do so.. That is alot of pressure on him for a one of not important race.

If he goes 1-1, every one will say - year, he should do, it's sand..

If he goes 1-2, and maybe misses the overall - he would basicly have failed, and people will bash on him..

I don't think he will race Southwick, and if he does, he better make sure he wins it..

Edit: he would be better Racing a event where people didnt expect him to win..

Wonder if there is a way to automatically bounce any Herlings thread straight to the dumbgeon?

I mean, every single one of them turns into page after page of the same thing, over and over again.

Sounds like you know what he is thinking. Are you an insider in the Herlings camp? If so, you can offer him my home for the week of the Southwick race, if that will help get him here. I live about an hour from the track in a scenic location near many beaches and Cape Cod. It would be epic if he were to come race the national at "The Wick 338."
I'm sure the track promoter would be hugely appreciative, and the date falls exactly in the middle of a four week break in the GP schedule. If he was going to race Unadilla two years ago, he should definitely consider racing the Wick this year. What's the worst that can happen?

I don't think you need to be in his head to realise what Goat said is pretty accurate.

There's no doubt Herlings is a phenomenal rider, but I hate reading all the posts that proclaim him to be the fastest, or the very best in the world. It's almost as inflammatory as the criticism he receives, it can't be verified and all it does is increase the expectation meaning he'll get all sorts of shit if he doesn't live up to it.

I am no insider, I just stated what I think is obvious... Nothing to gain ( when everyone expect you to win), and alot to loose..

Same scenario for American riders racing the USGP.

Hey Loots
Watching Herlings in the sand is magical i don't care how much people dislike him they have to admit watching this KID in the sand is truly a sight.
You reckon JH would of raced this 450 on a hard pack track or only on his true specialty the sand?

as he races a national series , its almost always a sand track here in the netherlands ... but it would surprise me if he wouldnt train on a 450 on hard pack tracks like he did in previous years
he raced in the past on a 450 in the belgium nationals , dont know on what type of tracks

You fuckers that think that someone going balls to the wall on a smaller class bike means the end of the world for everyone else are hilarious.

There are a plethora of riders who have gone crazy fast on the smaller bike and either been very good or crashed themselves to oblivion on the big bike.

It doesn't prove shit and it certainly doesn't prove who the best guy is. Want to be the best? Prove it.

Let Kenny ride any bike, let Jeffy ride any bike, Kenny got his number every place but sand...

Never said that. You're over stretching my statement, which is exactly what someone does when they're trying to prove a point that cant be proven. I don't believe Ken could beat Jeffrey in the MX2 GP series right now. Jeffrey is unbelievable at the moment. I think Ken could beat Jeffrey on AMA tracks though because Ken has that advantage over Jeffrey. Ken could beat Jeffrey on SX. But I do not believe Ken could beat Jeffrey at MXGP's.

Oh, and how do you justify thinking Jeffrey could beat Dungey and Tomac but not Roczen? Dungey has had Roczens number pretty much all the time. So has Tomac in MX when healthy. Roczen looks unbeatable at one race, then the next Dungey knocks him back into reality.

Anyways, will Jeffrey smoking everyone at Glen Helen, the AMA's home field, convince you he's the fastest in the world?

Don't worry about him hes obviously threatened which is why hes resorting smart assed comments, anyone who's not blinded by the American flag or the class Jeffery knows hes probably the best out there.

If Americans want to argue who's better I'm surprised Tomac's name isnt mentioned by them must have short memories or have no idea whats going on, Tomac's last first rounds of last years MX was the best riding I've seen on a 450 for many years, yes.. faster than RV.

And he just won the 1st Mx1 moto! Lapped up to 4th place.

Top 5:

1. Herlings
2. Dewulf
3. Klein Kromhof
4. de Waal
5. Ramon

Doesn't look so shabby so far.
Not really any top GP riders on the line though

He just corrected that you said Dungey had Roczens number pretty much all the time.
They have raced two series against each other outdoors. One was won by Dungey and the other was won by Roczen. Not sure if that's any close to having the number all the time.

2011 MX2 championship. Herlings Vs Roczen. Roczen won.
Has Roczen lost all of his pace since then, even considering he picked up an AMA 450 title?

Dungey has been better the last 1.5 years than Kenny. Kenny was better the year before that. Let's not go saying Kenny is done... besides, everyone looks worse when there is actual competition.
