Im always amazed by people who still GAF about...and even almost idolize guys like Jason Lawrence, who was such a complete and total train wreck, with no respect for anybody else or even himself. I'm all for mercy, and can admit that the guy was a pretty damn good rider, but if he was at the level today that he was when he was at his absolute best, he'd still probably get his ass handed to him properly by any of the top-ten 250 or 450 guys out there now.

The guys he would beat went on to be multi-time champs. Including Dungey. You're right about how people still make him relevant but you are completely wrong saying any of the top 10 250 guys could smoke him if this was his era. He was a championship caliber talent no doubt.

HEY, that's really jacked up man. They worked really hard and . . . (pause) . . . Wait a minute. Actually, what am I talking about. That was sort of funny. Nevermind.

I will say one thing in Jason's benefit though. He still rides all the time and post all kinds of videos, etc. so somehow someone is still bank roll'n him so maybe in the end, he's the smartest guy. He doesn't have to work or travel or race, but he gets all the benefits.

Then again, why are we talking about him?

Man I'm not so sure. So much natural talent in that guy. Most these riders that were good in their own time are good because they rise to the challenge no matter what. Thats what they do.

Yeah he's living the life... No more drug tests either

I think he wanted to attempt a comeback, was riding a lot once he got out of jail but then jacked his shoulder up really badly. 4th degree AC separation, it was pretty gnarly looking.

Also lol @ that second last scene in OP's video where he is talking about Dungey, I don't think he could project any harder right there.. kind of poetic too that Dungey went on to basically become one of the greatest of all time.

I am pretty sure a lot of the guys replying in this thread have not watched the whole video, but you are absolutely right about the no respect part. Watch the video and he comes across as a bitchy slack jawed dick. And his comments towards the end about Dungey - "the kid is born mentally messed up......he's already mentally unstable....he's just gonna fold again today....." just show what a complete lack of respect the guy had.

I would LOVE to know J Law's honest and real opinion of Dungey today...Laughing

I don't want to sound like a hippie or like I'm even defending Jlaw, because I'm not since I don't know him, but....................some people really and truly are not all that motivated by material success, fame, money, what have you. That is near blasphemy in the US and especially regarding anyone with his potential, but it doesn't make it wrong. This could be Jason's case, or he could be a moron. None of us knows what's in his mind. But only the most uptight people or authority freaks really have any problem with some guy smoking bud and riding motocross, and otherwise enjoying life in his hometown. This is exactly what Jason seems to be doing. The only reason there is any belly aching over it is because he happens to have potential to be a Top 5 Pro. But he's not actually doing anything wrong.

I have seen izzi the past 3 times I've been riding this year. He's been hanging around with justin cooper and the guy who owns mgx graphics.

He's still got some popularity on eBay! This jersey had quite a few bids flying in last minute.

There is a long list of great riders who made bad choices. Some are behind bars, some are down and out and some are dead.

There are a few that have sorted their shit out and have become reputable citizens of society - I salute those guys.

i seriously just saw this. I for one am super happy for him. addiction hits super close to home for me as i have lost a lot of people back in NH due to this. I see he has the support of good people around him including TP199. i would really love to see something good from this.

Ain't that the truth.

But, in JLs defense, he hasn't hurt anyone.
He's not sitting in a jail somewhere for hiring a hit man to murder a rival or anything.Whistling

His life, his choices, who the fuck does anyone think they are to judge or tell a guy how to be?

It was a scenario. Asking the question if he was on weed and crashed a vehicle into a family. Not that hard to figure out.

Never compare Nico with Jason, one pissedaway a career while the other was force fed pain kollers by an industry that later dumped him because of an addiction that they started.

Let's all be good boys and girls and follow all the laws. I think everyone agrees that driving under the influence is bad, but J-Law just going out and having fun with his friends is a bit different.
