I'm sure this question has probably been asked before on here, but now that Ryan has become a dominant force in supercross the opinion from most people may be switched from say 3 years ago. What do you think his technique and his style fits more?

He's so calculated and smooth in both diciplines. But I still think he's better Outdoors. He just doesn't fade in a 35 min moto. He's gonna crush everyone's spirit in a couple of months. Just watch.

He's better than his competition at not getting beat up and hurt!

Both, right now. Tomac was the fastest guy outdoors until he got hurt.

He rides at a level (consistently) that his competition can't match. I fully expect Roczen and and Tomac to be able to match him speed-wise in the outdoors this year, may even be a click faster. The question is: Can those two ride at that level (faster than RD) all season without any missteps? I know Dungey can.

Compared to his current competition, he is better at both! The guy is a machine. He may lose some motos, but he will very likely avoid the huge points losses that his competition cannot seem to do...EVER. It is a formula that always brings people back to his "consistency". Fact is he is consistently faster than all the guys he's racing right now, in both disciplines. And just like every champion before him, it won't last forever. The real question: "Who's got next?" HAHAHAHA, remember that overplayed line last year?

I think it's easier for him to get a good start and check out in Supercross in general, the lap times are shorter, the racing is shorter. There's less time for another rider to chase the leader down, the tracks aren't as rough as what we've seen outdoors so mistakes are limited to almost none (for Dungey). Imo, based off the last couple SX main events, I say Roczen beats Dungey at the nationals, not as easily in SX.

^ This. A few riders will beat him this summer. But none of them consistently enough to take the championship from him.

Are you thinking Kenny will beat him for the championship or more races then SX?

In light of his recent supercross performances, I'd go with him being better in SX. If he can transfer this momentum and aggression over to MX, he'll be completely different outdoors then in the past.

I'm saying this year's outdoor title goes to Eli, Roczen in 2nd and Dungey in 3rd.

Will he be strong enough outdoors to fight a healthy Tomac and Roczen? This was kind of my thought with the topic I posted about him burning out on aldons program. Will he have the strength. We know he's got the speed and the cardiovascular endurance for sure, his mental state is on point and confidence will be through the roof. He endured last year and was pretty dominant but Roczen seems to be stronger than he was last year and he is really good outdoors, some would say based on his results KRoc is stronger outdoors.

On what results? Dungey handily beat him indoors and outdoors last year. And he's handily beat him inside this year continuing the trend.

He didn't just "endure" last year. He kicked ass.

Tomac is a wild card but all the speed in the world is usless if you can't keep it on two wheels.

i went to Glen Helen and watched Tomac go 1-1. If he makes every round I definitely see him winning this year. The dude has talent on rough tracks that no one else has!

Reading my post it's not very clear, my bad. I was more comparing Roczen to himself and not to RD. I meant that I believe KRoc may be stronger outdoors than he is indoors meaning roczens has had more success outdoors than he has indoors And by RD enduring outdoors I meant that he had more endurance than anyone else in the field and kept it throughout the whole season while also not missing any motos or races. RD was the one guy that could maintain his pace throughout the whole 30+2 all season and I'm hoping he can pick up where he left off. I don't see any reason unless his training works against him somehow.

RD is probably the best rider ever at staying healthy.....EVERY season. When he crashes, its minor. (knock on wood)

that being said, my pick is tomac. 1 small mistake (colorado round) cost him dearly from a dominating season w/ honda...no one will match tomac once he has got his fitness/health at %100. hes getting close to it now. just gotta finish out supercross healthy so he can get to the nitty gritty.

RD consistency is gonna be hard to beat for sure.

Picking anybody but Dungey right now might be humorous to some, and picking two guys to beat him may seem a bit of a stretch at this point. I would have a hard time picking anybody but Dungey right now, whether it be for a moto win, a championship, fastest qualifier, holeshot award, etc... Tomac's starts lately have been awful, Kenny's on his way out at RCH, but either, or both, are capable of winning the outdoor title, and beating Ryan. If Dungey finishes third this year, I bet we'll see some major battles, and it should make for an awesome season.

Dan I still wonder about the combo of Kawi's all new bike, Tomac switching brands, and Tomacs injury recovery. It will be interesting to see if he can go back to the front outdoors.

RD has unbelievable focus. He hits his lines lap after lap. If he can couple his Aldon inspired ability to pass quickly with the judgement to know when to look for better lines when his is blown out...he will be pretty hard to beat. Kenny probably has more raw speed and Tomac feels a track like no other but Ryan just has a knack for keeping his mistakes small and manageable. No matter what, I think we're in for a great summer...See y'all at the Ironman.
