I thought Tim Ferry was gonna run Scott goggles and boots this year. I just noticed in GuyB's pics that he was wearing 661 boots this weekend. Wonder what's up with that.

He is contracted to wear them.

MXA photo from Anaheim pits.

In all the race photos he is wearing his old 661's with the logos painted over. He may not be comfortable racing in the Scott's yet. From reports I had read about them they have a very bulky toe box which can make it awkward to shift. Maybe they are building some custom ones for him and they just don't have them perfected yet.

I missed the pic that you speak of but I saw Tim in the pits between his first and second practice and he had Scott boots on.

Have ever seen the Scott boots in person? I have NO IDEA how anybody could race with those boots. Like it was mentioned above, the toe box is HUGE and would be extremely hard to fit under a shift lever.
Perhaps, this a example of a rider chasing the money and worrying about the details later? If Ferry was paid to wear those boots, he needs to WEAR those boots. Or give the money back.

I've seen the preseason videos of him wearing the Scotts, so he's been wearing them. Strange he didn't wear them on race day.

His shoe size is 10.25 and Scott delivered 10.5 boots for the race. He was furious. Boots flying out of Kawi rig in every direction.

The toe box on the scott boots is the same height as a tech 8. the only reason the toe box looks so large is becase the sole is incorporated into the toe box unlike traditional boots. traditional boots have a sole pad sewn on the bottom of the boot so the toe box looks small when compared. It's all an illusion. Scott boots are great....mine are still going strong after a year and a half. I've never had a boot last that long.....

my kid liked them so much we bought two pairs. He said the bulky feeling disappears after the second ride. yea, they look funky but the protection is awesome. He came up so short on a quad jump this weekend at the Michigan AX, that the enigine hit before anything else. He told me he knew his ankles were broken when he saw it coming.....he said he did not even of the force in his ankles. I guess it is better to feel good than to look good. Just my 2 cents

I have had a pair on. The toe box was larger then my normal boots, so the shifter would have to have been moved. Other then that comfortable boots. Soon as they are on the clearance rack, I can see buying a set.

Ferry wore the Scott's in Practice and even in the heat race. For the main though, he wore his old 661 boots.
