Here's my two...

I think it is ignorant to be brand loyal, with the exceptions of these.

If you are being paid to ride, or given product free of charge.

If you are being well taken care of through a specific brand dealer.

There is absolutely no reason to be brand loyal, unless you benefit financially.

For me...I back 100% what ever I am on for the time being...Help me, Help you, so to speak.
I get help for the simple reason, that I sell product.

have had all the japs, but from the mid 80s till 91 i had cagivas , and i got to admit that straight from the crate it worked best for me.

I started on a 71 Italjet. haha not around anymore today that I know of. Been on all brands and still have all brands but loyal to local Yamaha dealer who is a mile down and always goes the extra mile for me and the team so obviously worth being loyal to him and Yamaha

Started on a Kaw, then the Euro stuff, Honda's, a bunch of Yami's, KTM, back to Maico, then the 5 honey. only one Suz, worst bike ever!

Pretty much stuck on Yamaha at this point.

I've been a Factory Honda rider since 86. I did switch to Factory Yamaha for two years in 1999 on a YZ 125. Then Honda and I patched things up, and we got back together in 2001. Suck It!

That wasn't a Super Rat....it would've been a Super Combat unless I'm mistaken.

The adjustment under the plate was for the throw on the shift forks....

I'm sure it was a Super Rat Rat...100cc. I always wanted the 125 but never got one.

Yeah, I could never get it adjusted right though. It was quite frustrating. Didnt have much for mechanical skills back then.

If Sears still made motorcycles I might have stayed loyal. I started on a 1960's?? Sears 4 stroke 100cc with a custom suede seat. I rode that thing for hours and hours by Bell mountain until my dad finally had pity on me and bought a 1980 KX 80 for Christmas. From there it was:

I've been pretty much a Honda / Kawasaki guy - with brief forays into

disappointment and disollusionism (made that word up just now. Meow)

I've rode a lotta great bikes that were NOT green or red, yet I keep coming back to the

stop and go colors.

That green Bennelli turned me on, but I ain't got 9 grand for an Italian mistake.

They came out with the orange right before they folded. They also built a 250 mx and I remember it was called "Thunderdog".

I started out on Honda and was extremely brand loyal for a long time. I couldn't bring myself to buy one of their four-strokes though after all the issues I've seen and heard of. Now I can't be bothered what brand it is.

Never bought a new Honda.

Bultacos, KXs and RMs mostly. Bought couple YZs....'90 YZ 250 again my fav all time.

KX 125 '84 & 88 close second..'78 Bul was sure fun.

Had at least 25 new bikes.....financial genius....

From a Mini Trail 50 in 1972 and up I was Honda.
Trail 70's, XR 75's, Cr125's, etc.
Had a lot of success till I bought the 1976 CR125.
Worst bike I ever owned.
Switched to Suzuki's then and have slept now with all of the major brands since.

Currently on a Suzuki but would switch in a heart beat on circumstances of the bikes available.
