This was so ugly, i was waiting for his hand to tangle in the spokes and get lopped off.

Scary shit

no doubt that was UG-LEE.

watched it a few times on the replay--it really is a classic crash with him flopping around over the bars. I am glad that there did not appear to be any serious injuries.

Ya Jimi, i coudlnt sleep, woke up around 4am and my back was hurtin so bad i coudlnt get back to sleep. Its going to be over 100 here today so i figured i would get up and do a few things around the house before the heat hit.

It was still in the 90's last night at 10pm when i went to the store to get ice cream. Summer sucks out here man!

The worst about those crashes is they are super slow mo for the riders (at least they've always been for me)... you know it's coming, you know it's gonna suck, and knowing doesn't make it hurt any less.

Glad his hand didn't get caught in those spokes though... man, that woulda been gross.

The worst part for me is that usually crashes are un expected and during the process of falling, you can only predict whats gonna happen and its a realy scary feeling. When I'm goin down, i can feel it in the gut its almost like a drop on a roller coaster but worse

Wow!

Never really saw Tedesco as a "hang it out" type rider.

But damn, just goes to show that no matter how smooth a guy looks or how controlled or under the edge.....they are all in reality willing to fall on their sword to catch the guy in front of them or keep a guy behind them.

Tedesco was probably just too hungry for another podium or result and got it going too fast, over the edge.......and I respect him for it.

Looks like it could have been a lot worse, as he was able to hit and slide rather than stick or lawn dart in.

Has anyone ever heard of a 'hand in spokes' injury ever actually occuring? I've done the boot in the back wheel thing but that only left a bruise.

That's wicked . . . about a 7 out of 10 on the Tortelli scale.

Years ago at etown my husband crashed and got his thumb caught in the back sprocket. It was in the middle of his hand when they pulled it out........ that was back in the day and his dad straightened it out and he got back on the bike!

There was a guy named Mike who used to run an accessories trailer at D7 tracks that lost a couple fingers at Budds Creek. He told me he crashed on a downhill and put his hand up when he saw the bike was going to tag him. Went right into the rear wheel. He still raced after that, though, and said he loves Budds Creek.

Wasn't that video from texas? Pretty sure it's the one i watched on speed yesterday during the freestone coverage.

Oh man, that's terrible. I don't even want to think how bad it would have fucked his hand up to get it in the moving wheel spokes.
