I agree, I hope this continues. Nice to see a good race, between two great riders. I was hoping that Roczen would win that one, it was still a great race.

Great race . Roczen did have more raw speed but Dungey fending him off was impressive Both passes were due to the other riders mistake. Kroc raced him clean when he had a few opportunities to put Dungey on the ground. I know some feel he should have but I respect him for racing clean especially when a take out could help him for the title.

Roczen did have Dungey's number - right in front of him as they crossed the finish line.

Great race - hope they put this show on for the rest of the season.

So Dungey was lucky? Ahh, i see. I just thought he was talented, athletic, and motivated. Sheesh! I've been looking at this all wrong. Silly me.

Roczen had Dungeys number but it was busy. Roczen was clearly faster but Dungey was more impressive. This is not 2011-2014 Dungey.

You know a guy is good when he makes the hard things look easy.

Dungey doesn't get enough credit on his pure speed because he looks so smooth doing it.

Roczen was on it but he's all out trying to keep up, while the Diesel is smooth as ice.

Remember back when Stew and Reed were battling for wins? Many times, it looked like they'd rather crash themselves out than let the other win. To me, it was a classless, almost vulgar way for two champions to race each other. They seemed more like immature little punks than representatives of a difficult, dangerous, thrilling sport (kinda like Marquez in MotoGP). I think there's an undeclared understanding between Roczen and Dungey that they will NOT take each other out to win. They race with every bit as much determination to win as any champion ever has, they just won't cross the line into dirty riding to accomplish what they're after. Myself, I like it, as it seems like it's a better reflection upon the sport. If you want endless collisions and all the cerebrally-unique fans that kind of third-grade level amusement attracts, there's always figure 8 racing, right? Right.

You mean mistakes cost him the win, not luck.

Yeah,a mistake cost him but without lappers he may had a lead big enuff to make that mistake and no loose position.

It is what it is though, but, some guys seem like they never see a flag, maybe a blue lazer shined in the goggles.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda, if, and, or but. Lappers are as much a part of the race as any other element. they work against ya sometimes and for ya others. Like you said "it is what it is"

And what i want to add..

i remember craig crossing in the whoops on savatgy, and all of you say that was terrible dirty and just not a good move.
But as soon as dungey crossing in the whoops, which we have seen is pretty dangerous (craig, savatgy), its impressive and good and wow.. dont think it was that clean and fair, but I guess he cant win anymore straight up so he has to pull out such moves Unsure

Bad luck is a mechanical dnf out of a riders control.

Getting squirrly on a dragons back is rider error, not luck.

These threads are funny. Fanboys come out in full force, "more raw speed". Where was the raw speed last week? Interesting.

Roczen was faster and yet still couldn't beat dungey , that can't be good for his confidence .

wow since when does the past count? So i can now say races where roczen won and beat dungey wow.. What counts is the present and roczen is getting better and better and even tho last week he had the opportunity to pass.

and @ Mr.X i dont think so. When you know your best lap was half a second faster than the leaders time than its more a confidence booster...

Super. I'm sure his improving when the series is 2/3 done will erase the almost two race lead dungey has.

Or do something about dungey having the most wins.

I like ken but jeez man of course the past counts.

Well if the Flagger by the double crossing the start was waving the blue flag instead of waving a yellow flag (color blind?) I'm sure more of the lappers would have known they were being lapped.

The first time I saw it I thought someone fell, then he repeated it over and over. Both main events.

What does it matter? Over the year dungey has been the more consistent and faster rider. Last year too.

Do moral victories matter? I'm not sure if they do to these guys or not. I don't really think MC worried about the odd time lusk or vuillemen were faster than him...

I can't help but wonder what Rockzen would be like on another bike.

Think he has ridden a FE by now? I know he wasn't allowed to ride one just before they came out because they knew he was switching. Is his RMZ right at the weight limit?

Of course it matters. You do realise theyre racing again few weeks after supercross and the points are setting to 0 ? Huh
So it is very important he is improving now dont you think so?..

Faster, slower, lappers; I was just happy to see a good, close, clean race.

He clearly did not have Dungey's number since he was not able to go that pace without the mistakes.

Dungey is faster. From the time the gate dropped to when Dungey crossed the checkers was faster than when Roczen did it.
