So I was riding a local sand track yesterday since it was pouring rain and I ended up swapping at the end if a (4th gear) roller section and landing on my back and hitting my head pretty good. Didn't get knocked unconscious but this was the first hit I've had where I actually see stars and couldn't focus my eyes for 15 seconds I'd say. I was wearing a 2013 Bell Moto 9 carbon if that matters. After that I still wasn't quite feeling it the rest of the day(I know I shouldn't have rode) and today I still feel a little out of it and occasionally get very minor off and on headaches. I realize I should go get checked out but the wife borrowed my truck as her car broke and I won't have a way to the hospital until later. Just curious what you all think, do you think I got a concussion or is it just in my head and in fine. Have you guys experienced anything like this and have it turn out to be a concussion
Edit: forgot to meantion sore neck

If you highside into the deep weeds and, for the rest of the session, all the jump lips are wiggling... you might have a concussion.
But seriously, these symptoms are still in their early stages. Take it easy. Every noggin's different. Sounds like the helmet (and your head) took a big hit. I'd get it checked out.

With post concussion syndrome it can be a delayed recovery.
I've been up to a couple of months before feeling normal again.
You really should get checked out and receive professional medical advice for your specific case.
From what I've read, concussions can often have a cumulative impact. Accordingly, riding a dirtbike will never be as safe as it was before you swapped out.
It would certainly be worth the risk to me, if I were in your shoes, to get back on the bike in about two weeks times. But it's important that you're honest with yourself about the irreparable damage you're doing to your body.
Lastly, if you're genuinely concerned, as opposed to just curious, schedule an appointment with a neurologist and explain the situation.
Didn't think anything of it (neither did my riding buddies). Had a few beers Saturday night and said I'll sleep this off and be ready on Sunday.
Woke Up and still felt foggy. Practice didn't help either. Lined up knowing I wasn't feeling good, but thought I could power through it. 2 of the worst moto's of my life. Luckily, nothing happened.
Learned a lot about the effects of a concussion that weekend. At the very least, should have grabbed some ice water Sat. night and stayed off the bike Sunday. Life is full of shoulda, coulda, wouldas.
