We will be making the trip out to Indy. I was just wondering what hotels are good in the area? We will have a bike in a van with us, so we would like to stay out the sketchy areas.

A lot of the teams stay right downtown at the Omni Severin, and there's also a good hotel right in front of that the Crowne Plaza, which used to be a train station and actually has some rooms that are in old train cars. They are in between Lucas Oil Stadium and the downtown bar area... Not sure what bike-security would be like but those are two good hotels that you can to the stadium from.

I have stayed at the University Place Hotel on the IUPUi campus close to downtown when i stayed at Indy for the F1 and MotoGP races at IMS. Excellent rooms and plenty of campus security.

Looking around it looks like they are booked solid that weekend.

Omni Severin is great. Look for deals that include breakfast! and/or parking.

All the Downtown hotels are good. Some obviously better that others. Check the star ratings.
I've stayed all over downtown and never had a bad stay. But I'm not sure about your bike security. Maybe ask when you book the room. find out if they have a private parking garage.

There's also some good hotels outside downtown but I would guess the risk of getting your bike stolen is greater the farther you get away from downtown. But I'm not for sure on that.

There's the holiday inn express right across from the West side of the stadium.

Pay your insurance.

Back van into parking space so back doors are not accessible.

Bring a big wallet and go to St. Elmo's Steak House, the huge cocktail shrimp and sauce will blow your balls off. Steaks are primo but you will PAY!

I opted for the Alexander. It had great reviews and looks like it was just built in 2013. Seems like a cool place, walking distance to stadium. Thank you for the recommendations. Any pre-race parties going on Friday night?

St. Elmo's is a must. Conrad is a great hotel but a little pricey.
