Berm I suggest they use solid pneumatics like we use on our skidsteers for work, no flats and so what if they only weigh a couple hundred pounds more?

might as well switch to ATV's. Then they have 2 tires in front and 2 tires in back. You are carrying your own spare!

In Toronto, after the 250 main but before the 450 main, I saw guys digging something out of the sand section. Hard to see what it was from 500 level seating, but my guess is it had something to do with the flats. It looked more like a wood type piece, rather than a rock.

I had a perfect view of that. It was a massive rock. They needed a shovel to dig it out. It was very large, with square edges, and right in one of the areas where riders were landing from that big single jump. Crew members were pulling out large rocks all night.

Like GuyB said. Rocks.
Fair enough, thanks for the clarification!

I was heart broke for Justin when he got that flat. He was running fourth with a nice little cushion on Reed with just a few laps to go.

Mabey he needs a little more air in his tires.

I'm surprised at the guys who are pitting to change wheels late in the race. Baggett got a flat with what, 3 or 4 laps remaining? He pulled in to get it fixed and ended up finishing 3 laps down.

I'm not sure what place he was in when he pulled off, but I'd think if he took it slow and finished the race on the flat he would not have lost nearly as much time.

Same with one or two of the 250 riders in Toronto.
Second time I've seen this mentioned.....seriously? Imagine trying to RIDE a SX track let alone protect positions with a fucking flat tire?! Suicide Squad

Completely different than gutting out an outdoor national...completely

I could see this on a local level but a Pro putting himself and others in harms way to not race again this season is ludicrous,
Baggett and others that pitted to change a flat did the right thing.

I could have been more correct and said, "Rocks and other debris."

A friend of Vital over at Pirelli sent me this shot that they took after the main last week.

I'd say Case Closed, Bib Mousse!
Reminds me of the Baja 1000 traps the locals set out

During trackwalk Daytona we found a piece of rebar sticking out of the lip of the single single table table section. A couple years ago at Detroit I remember car parts in the dirt as we were I think a week after monster jam.

It's the soft tires which get excellent traction but get flats real easy. I remember buying the Dunlop 756rr I think was name and rode at local track and I was like woah this is how it feels to ride on on a pro level tire. The traction was incredible and I was riding faster and more confident then ever but I also got a flat the day and then a flat on another one so I went back to a regular tire but it was awesome while it lasted.
