In this case, genius, air forks are help up by a simple, low cost seal - e.g they are 100% responsible for holding air and keeping the forks up. If it fails in any way, you have a catastrophic issue.
In contrast, your footpeg and gears example are poor comparisons and show how clueless you actually are. The cotter pin and cir-clip examples aren't "supporting" devices, unlike the air seal in air forks. If you lose your cotter pin, your footpeg won't immediately fall off, but over time it will probably, but hopefully you understand the differences in your poor examples and just plain poor rationale.
Pay attention to the images posted here so you can educate yourself on the differences before you tell the wife how smart you think you are.
Cheers!
Unfortunately the AER48 fork is getting the bugs worked out, not a big deal. IMO I'd rather the moto industry take chances to come up with new advanced technology than just sitting here riding 10 year old designs and scared to move forward.
test longer and bring a reliable product.
after getting an 02 250 4 stroke enduro im not getting any ktm bikes ever
Cheers ass!!
Was my original comment so inflammatory?
I wonder how many of them have ridden them? I well setup pair, because its not like any production spring forks have had issues.
I've only worked on one set off SSS forks, and all the inner plastic pistons were destroyed and it took the whole forks out and nearly the rider. It cost quite a lot on after market parts to fix them.
