SX 450 2015.5 or newer problems!

Is anyone else having these problems? This is a good friend of mine. I just bought a 16 and now am a tad worried.

Never heard of any issue, I'd be asking questions if it happened 6 times on my bike

I have never ever heard of that kind of issues when it comes to the latest gen KTM. 6 times? That is weird.

I couldn't even ride it again myself. I hit massive jumps pinned and my worst fear is my bike seizing up in the air or face which has happened twice and I was lucky to not of been hurt to bad.

I would replace the fuse with a 22 long rifle.

It's just scary I was just wanting to know if this a one off deal or what. Like I said I just got a 16 and man in thinking twice.

This is common knowledge in certain circles. Replace the capacitor/condensator with part # 77711035000. This is the one used on 2015 and older . This info came from a factory bike
mechanic.

It's not currently a recall. Personally, I wouldn't ride it without replacing it. My dealer is aware of the problem and stocks the part for this reason.

I heard about it happening on the 2015.5 250.

I've also heard that dealers will test your capacitor and replace it only if it's faulty.

Friend of mine had the same problem on a 2016 350. KTM dealer in Spain replaced the part for free. KTM is aware of this problem.
I also think they replaced the bracket for one with some rubber mounting points or something like that.

Just spoke to ktm and there is a recall on it as they are adding a rubber bracket to it to stop viberation which they are say is blowing fuses.....

I have also heard the trannys on the 250 and 350 are exploding at an alarming rate from a KTM dealer . Too bad I was thinking about getting one but think I'll wait and stick with the Yammie.

Haven't heard anything about that locally

But there are 2 YZ250f's in my local dealer with broken frames...and another with no spark...

I hear ya about the 250f Yamaha's , that's whats keeping me off one. I have a 450 . We have a good friend that's a KTM dealer and he told us it's so bad the transmissions are back ordered. Too bad to I rode the 350 and loved last year and loved it.

Exact thing happened to me last weekend, likely i had enough time before the jump to abort. Contacted KTM and they are replacing the Condenser and mount for free. If you are blowing fuses for no good reason then it is most likely your condenser.

To test your condenser, just unbolt the negative lead off the battery while it's running. If it stops your condenser is fried. Old er bikes do it too. they will still run with the fried condenser but it puts a heavy load on the electrics. KTM will warrant the part but your dealer will have to confirm it first. while your at it, locktight the selector shaft detent bolt and that will stop the thing coming loose and free spinning the drum randomly, replace the fuel hose, warranty and be careful of snapping the rear sprocket in half and the ensuing mess. The dealer told him that it was fixed. Kept occurring though
