In the past a top rider can have a bad start and fight their way through the pack, these days not so much...in fact its very rare now. Not due to their own ability but track design and other rider depth/speed plays a big part.

Seems true. Especially as more teams are getting dialed in.

The section after the triple, he landed too far off into the tuff blocks and got stuck on the last lap. Happened right in front of me. Can't really understand hwo Reedy gooned out so hard

That little long winded Frenchie guy on that orange bike found his way around a whole bunch of those guys you are talking about.

If i were him i would be sick and tired of the shit tracks. I knew it wasn't going to be a good one when alex ray said the track was awesome on press day. Not to mention take the fucking wall out of the whoop sections and actually use the floor space that is given. Terrible track..... what happened to 180 degree bowl turns (thanks goerke) long whoops and rhythm lanes? Now its flat turn here, follow the leader here so on so forth.

He's having quite a few issues in the turns, flat or berms.... the bike standing up in ruts and just not on pace on flat turns...

But more than anything, his starts are awful, and by awful I mean holy hell they're bad... only reason he came out with anything is he was next to the box and got some space wide, but out of the gate it's just hesitate or spin or something...

Still, i'd bet he'd still get after it with a start.

He's probably really stoked about this 360 Fly sponsorship issue and I am sure he is riding poorly because of it. Feld and Monster need to make a decision and figure out whether they want this to be a racing series or a reality show.

Running outside sponsors out of the sport in an attempt to monopolize their brand and the brand of series sponsors is just plain stupid. They need to realize that without the racers they do not have a reality show. How exciting would the main events be when they are comprised primarily of a select few top caliber racers and the rest of the gate being filled by a bunch of trust fund kids that are 10 seconds a lap off the pace?

That's what it will be like if they continue to rob the top riders of sponsorship dollars. From a financial standpoint the sport is already gasping for air and this type of attitude will surely finish it off at some point. Look at Indy Car racing for example. It took the series 20 years to finally recover (at least partially) from bad decision making and the greed of the sanctioning body.
Indycar was wrecked by one guy -- Tony George. It will never be back to where it was in, say, '85-95. 'Cause of that one tyrant with "a better vision."

So it's obviously partly your fault then, at least this week. Evil

Quit jinxing him, it was more fun with him running up front and not having to listen to all the complaints on here about the track, etc. for his recent results.

Yeah but he didn't get on the podium which is what my post was referring to, however getting to 5th was a good ride.

if you are no 1 on a full factory team, healthy and fit and still go down 1 lap you simply rode bad. nothing wrong with that, every racer will have bad races obviously, but no need trying to find excuses.

to me it seems the first couple races he just rode whatever yamaha gave him and made the best out of it. now he probably started testing alot and just maybe over-testing things and getting caught up on the little things to much. but what do i know...just an assumption.

Hard to believe Chad can go from looking so good in the first couple of rounds to so average by the 6th. Yamaha has to be getting a little nervous. Then again, they've got Webb coming in...

Yamaha is nervous? Because of Reed?
Factory Honda: 2 riders 3 podiums
Factory Kawi: 2 riders 1 podium
Factory Suzuki: 2 riders 0 podiums
Factory Husky: 2 riders 2 podiums(1 win)
Reed is carrying the Yamaha 450 show.
Look at JGR.

I was there. Jumped wide right in the end zone section after the triple and crashed. He got right back up but it took him forever to get it started. He was chasing Pourcel for awhile and with 3 turns to go I'm sure he was going for it and made a dumb mental mistake.

Up until that though, 18th after 1 lap to 9th and right on 8th is not a ride to be ashamed of. Especially considering how shitty he was riding all day. I mean, 18th and 15th in qualifying? 4th in a semi? He's better than that!

Watch him finally grab a holie and win Atlanta this weekend... Would be classic Reed.

he isnt the only one riding the tracks, its the same for everyone else...not bagging on Reed just saying a shit track for Reed is a shit track for everyone else.

Its not the tracks, its like what Crush said...he is having a little trouble in the turns (and obviously the starts), obviously a little bike issue that I am sure they will sort out soon.

To be fair also he's had goggle issues 3 times and some undisclosed bike (possibly gearbox?) at phoenix. Hasn't been perfect. I just want to see him ride well, sometimes he looks like he's gelled with the bike, others he doesn't.

Hopefully having that yellow bike wirh the number seven on it back out there will help reignite that fire that he had in the first few rounds.

The goggle issues he is having on multiple occasions so far is plain nutsy, especially considering his position in the running order. Whatever that problem might be, they need to get that fixed asap coming into the East coast rounds.

Reed might not even finish the season out because of this camera deal. That's what's on his mind. He went to the line at Arlington not even knowing if he will be in ATL. Black diamond was right, and 2-3 guys below him are high-functioning retards.

Narp. No way that deal was floating the boat.

Do you have some inside information or is that just what you came up with during a smoke break?

I'm still sad about that... we had a premiere open wheel series here in the US and it just got killed due to stupidity
