Being a two stroke fan, I am intrigued with Supercross in the mid-2000s, especially early 2006 when Vuillemin, McGrath, and Brown (among a few others) were some of the last "big names" on two strokes. Some sweet bikes!

Sorry for hijacking the the thread ,but seeing the bookoo bike reminds me that I actually won the bookoo pit bike sweepstakes years ago. It was suppose to have been a extreme pit bike. Guy cooper brand? I think? Don't really remember all the details. Anyway,it took almost a year to actually get it. When it arrived it was a Chinese POS...I called the sweepstakes people and they said bookoo had gone bankrupted and this was substituted for the grand prize of the higher value pitbike.
The one and only thing I have ever won turned out to be a turd. .lol. But I sold that thing at the mini o's to the MX eliminator starting gate guy for 500 bducks. So alls well that ends wells.

I watched bar to bar 2005 last night. I don't even care, it was way better racing on 2 strokes. I don't care how tired the whole 2 vs 4 thing is, or that I'm fanning the flames, it was just better and cooler and more badasser and I miss it.

Harder to ride, more mistakes, they had to ride harder to go fast.

Even if the pack was spread it was more interesting because watching a single guy going balls out was more entertaining.

That 180 right hander before the triple last weekend was a great example. Millsaps, a huge guy, literally bobbled the shit out of that corner on the exit and just twisted the grip and cleared it. The guy behind who could have passed just went back to following him.

450s have ruined sx.

250s still have to work. It should be 250f main class, 125 entry class and amateurs. End of story.

Harder to ride made for better action. K-Dub said it best...he remembers when you had to be the FREAKING MAN to nail the triple perfectly for 20 laps. Now you can just blip the throttle and clear everything.

I hadn't watched mx or sx from 1993 til 2010. I had zero dog in the 2 vs. 4 stroke fight. I 2010 I watched probably dozens of races to catch up with what I missed all those years, and I noticed that the old 2 stroke races were both more fun and better to watch, to my eyes. Racing is just not as fun to watch with 4 strokes to most people who grew up watching 2 strokes. Don't know why, but it's not. Four strokes are awesome bikes, but they've ruined racing for a lot of people.

A lot of the fun was knowing that you could do your own mods easily, and get more power, without having to spend an entire weekend fooling with reassembling the damned bike. As a 16 year old kid , on a whim, I removed my 86 rm250 cylinder and did some light porting, had the head milled locally, and had 10mm cut from my headpipe. A very, very noticeable increase in power, for about $20 and a dremel. Try that on a $8500 fartbike that needs an entire garage of tools to disassemble correctly. Won't happen. No fun.

Me too! I watched the 2002 Indy sx on youtube yesterday (thanks tony!) and it was more exciting than anything I've seen in sx in a long time. I dunno man. I hate to be that guy, but those days were just better. I have faith that it can reach those heights again though. We have Webb coming up next year, plus the debut of Forkner.. I'm sure as hell not gonna give up on it.
