I think he looks great. Doesn't hesitate to do different lines and hits triples half the field doesn;t do, so he's just keeps building on the previous week. Needs better starts.

If I'm not mistaken hasn't he set the fastest main event lap at every race so far? It will take some time. He does seem to hit a wall around lap 10 or so. Like last week he was 3-4 seconds out on KROC then Kenny was right on him. But then Tomac picked it up and not only held Kenny off for 4-5 laps they both caught reed (I know reed said he made some mistakes but everyone was). I think he was definitely going to have a good run at 2nd had he not lost his front end on the last lap.

I wouldn't call that a great position if i had to make up 18 points to a guy who finished off the podium once in the last 20 or so races.

the only good news for tomac is that there is only a hand full points to make up to 2nd. 2nd to 6th are quite close in points.
I don't disagree, probably overshot a little. He's in a "good" position to make things happen and that needs to happen sooner than later.

Last year at his time Dunge was 12 pts. down to Roczen and Tomac was 26 down. It's the same players. Throw Reed in the mix and there's definitely cards yet to be played with 14 rounds still left on the schedule.

Don't know which race you guys watched, but I thought he rode amazing! Passing up to Reed and would have got him if he hadn't made that silly mistake. He was one of very few to jump all the way into the loose stuff, the rest singled into the sand section. Eli is back and a huge threat for Dungey in SX

Nothing wrong with Tomac or the bike. He's definitely getting his flow back and would have been on the box at A2 if not for a last lap tip over. All you have to do is watch the replay of the lap he passed Milsaps and you'll see some amazing feet up on the pegs corner carving, and that outside, rail the berm pass he put on Davi. I believe he'll be the first Non-Baker trained winner of the season.

He looked good last race, but hes never been very fast in the tall whoops. Still almost got Chad. Reed was makin him push too hard.

He had the fastest laptime of the night and his average laptimes were faster than RD and CR's . I think he is exactly where he needs to be after his injuries and new bike and team. Once those starts come around he will be in the winners circle.

Only problem with that sentence is he's been waiting for his starts to come around since he turned pro... He's not LaRocco, but he's certainly not Fro either.

If his average laptimes were faster he would have won....just stating facts here

I used to think this, but its true. The first lap doesnt start counting until u cross the finish line so you can get a bad start and have a faster average.

Ya... it's not a time trial!

Track position and the position of the start relative to the finish matter.

What i'm getting at is his speed is there and all he needs to do is work his starts out. I think he would be pretty happy where he is at after what he's gone through in the last 6 months. He looks better every race on that bike

I'd say he is doing pretty damn good for being on a new bike and team, let alone his time off a bike with shoulder injuries. Actually it's kind of scary considering he's running lap times so close to RD's already, not to mention setting the fastest lap time.

7th place was very surprising. Racer X said there was a meeting with kawi, Eli and his father. He won his qualifier and then kinda crapped out in the main. No charge through pack or nothing?

This.

4 F-ing months OFF a motorcycle, at his level, coming off some of the most impressive wins in history. We're not even a third of the season into this thing. So much for Eli to get used to, he's doing fine, I'm fairly certain he is not pleased with the process, but, in time, we will see great things from ET3.

Damn it! I want to see wins and see wins now! Just kidding. No doubt he has it harder than the other guys. I was just surprised that he looked good in his qualifier and was hanging around 10th place for so long. I just hope he is not getting bit by the golf bug again!

maybe, but if you remember Chad had his last race on June 13th (except for Monster Energy supercross) and hes doing well....so almost as much time off

In saying that I am rooting for him, we all expect him to do better on the Kawasaki

I still don't think he looks real comfortable on that bike. Early days for sure but he bit off a lot changing bikes to an all new bike while leaving one that seems really dialed in and having to come back from that surgery.

apparently after the race the team, eli and his father had a big and long meeting. are we going to see any big changes for this weekend? I actually wouldn't be surprised if he showed up on showa this weekend to give it a try under race conditions.
