Did you put the Tech 10 on over the Fox boot?

Pedals? They are not made for bicycles. That's your problem right there.
Yeah.

I recommend a pair of Shimano shoes and clipless pedals.

The "problem" you're describing is that you're comparing them to your old fox boots, which are likely worn out. Are these the first pair of new boots you've tried? You tend to hear that from new riders or people that have never tried a nice pair of new boots before. Tech 10's are top notch boots and in my experience, didn't need much breaking in to be comfortable. All new boots will break in a little bit as you wear them though.

Interesting. I felt my 10's were pretty good from the first ride. I haven't tried to 5 or 7's to compare them to though. I don't think I'd want them any less stiff feeling. There's a balance between mobility/feel and safety.

Just get used to them. Within 3 rides they will feel fine, and your old fox boots will feel like flexible old tennis shoes.

The AStars are now made in China. I found that the quality is far from what they used to be without a doubt. The Sidi boot, made in Italy, only takes about 1 ride to get broke in and the top of the boot is low profile to easily get under the shifter. They're also the lightest boot on the market.

Just a thought...

I have a set of tech 10 sitting in the cabinet. The inner booty digs into my heal bone too much.

I could NOT get used to the 10's either. No feel at all with them. Ditched them and went right back to 7's. 7-heaven.

Just curious, but did you find the quality to be far from what they used to be before or after you found out they were made in China?

After unfortunately. buckles wer terrible and the sole came apart within a year. Last set purchased. Went to Sidi and never looked back. Just got a new set of Crossfire 2 SR. Super sweet boot, easy to break in, buckles are awesome and new hinge system is pretty beast.

Mine weren't made in China according to the manufacturing label in the boot. But, my iPhone was, and it works bitchin! The T10's take a couple rides to break in, then you're money.

The first two rides I had a hard time shifting and using my rear brake because they weren't broken in. After that they were good to go. If you are having issues with them still, run water in your bathtub as hot as you can stand it, strap the boots on as tight as you can get them and step into the hot water. Spend some time in there moving around in your boots, bending ten around the ankle and such. After that they will be broken in for you.

Actually some are Croatia, some VietNam and other models China. Bottom line is that the quality has really dropped since moving manufacturing out of Italy where they used to be made and the quality was top notch.

To each his or her own.... But, I had some really bad quality issues with mine and my sons boots and that's why I switched. When you spend that kind of money on gear...I personally don't like having them fall apart within a year.

Never had a problem with my Sidi boots... Still made in Italy and extremely high quality for around the same cost as AStars. Plus, as parts wear, you can replace pieces and parts as needed to extend the life of the boot. Hard to beat that when the boot is a lot lighter than anything out there as well.

It took me 2 or 3 rides and mine were good. Mine are the 2014 version. My biggest issue with them, and the reason they will be my last pair of Tech-10's most likely, is the damn black leather bleeds all over the place when I wash them. It's ridiculous to pay that much for a boot and that happen. Looks like shit. Other than that I like them.

My son has a pair of SG-10's. I really really like his. Prob go with those next and save my self a few hundred bucks.

I've never owned a pair of Tech 10's but I rode with Tech 7's all last year. IMO worst boot I've ever had. Stiff as a board and absolutely no feel. Even after an entire season they never got that broken in feel.

I now have Sidi Crossfire 2's and am very happy with the initial feel and quality. Time will tell when riding season comes back around up here tho.

The Tech10's are not made in China, you're mistaken..
Tech10's are made in Croatia. Croatia is a stones throw from Italy and not considered a country of poor manufacturing.
