Best looking OEM bike of the 1970's

Edited Date/Time 12/5/2015 12:44am
The 80's are my favorite decade for moto bikes, but the 70's had some fine looking scooters.

#5) 1979 Kawasaki KX250

So sexy.

#4) 1979 Maico 490 Mega 2

#3) 1978 Bultaco 370 Pursang

(just saw this in an East Coast Vintage ad.. beautiful!)

#2) 1973 Honda CR125

#1) 1979 Honda CR125

IMO, the 1979 YZ's were the best looking bikes of the 70's. They were the only single shock rear suspension and looked so futuristic compared to the twin shock bikes. Especially with the aluminum swingarms.

You'll have to pick another to make it five from the 70s. That Maico is an 81. Here's a sweet little 75 Bultaco Astro...

I liked the 79' KX's also.... but the 79 RM's were pretty impressive looking to me 'at the time', even tho the fenders were brittle.

1979 Was the Magnum II. Looked identical to the 1978 Magnum but you can tell a '79 from a '78 because the '79 had the frame loop over the rear fender.

Was that the year that Maico got caught in the Trans-AMA series with titanium axles?

They had steel inserts pressed into the ends so that when they got checked with a magnet in tech that the were passed thru OK.

YZ400!

That's what I'm talking about! To me, these look futuristic compared to anything else made in the 70's.
