That bike is amazing, but while the graphics come close, they don't do it for me. First, the wings are too big. And two, the blue is too light on the number plate backgrounds and the shape of the backgrounds themselves needs adjusting. Nitpicking, I know, but the bike is so amazing that I think it needs the details to be right. Similar to the 550 above, when it first was shown the silencer was angled wrong. Now, that bike looks awesome.

Holy shit AJ, that bike is nice.

If I were to offer a nitpick myself, it would be that the Showa stickers should go on the fork sliders, in the same location they were on Bailey's bike (replace the Dunlop stickers, which would have existed on the rear fender only.)

I get the feeling that you did not intend for this bike to be 100% historically accurate or you'd have build an actual CR500 from the ground up instead, so I'll give you some slack for the very minor inconsistencies. That thing is truly awesome.

Other than the blue on the number backgrounds being a tad too light for my taste, that is a thing of beauty. I have been going back and forth on whether or not to powder coat the frame red and paint my engine black on my CR500 conversion but I think this has made my mind up for me. What is the proper name for this shade of red powder coat?
Thanks

Its Red baron red.
I'll try and get the powder manf. And code.

I don't get it???? There are 125/250 2 strokes being sold which are engineered and developed, why pay extra $$ to wedge an modified engine into a modified frame just to stay the same color?

I'm not sure who is capable of racing a 500 2T other than a hillclimb or desert pro?
Not everything is for you my narcissistic friend . Other people can like what they like too.

I posted a cpl of pics from the Dave Thorpe RC replica look that I'm working on for my crf450. As with the Service Honda above it really should have blue fork gaiters, but obviously they just won't work on USD forks apart from for show. Once moving the lower fork guards would destroy them in a single lap. So I came up with this to get the same feel, not sure how well it will work but its worth a go.-

Those may look better with the forks (or lower two thirds of the forks) hard anodised in blue maybe? Then the stickers over the top.just a thought.

Okay, what is that? Looks good on the bike. We need a pic of the whole bike to form a better opinion though. Wink

I think you'd have something there if you went to a flat finish and extended them down another couple of inches.

Yeah its hard to stick over that last lower bit as the fork diameter increases in 2 steps. I've stuck them over my c/f fork guards which is why they're zip-tied on

Can we see a closeup shot of that motor? Love the looks of this thing, but the finish on that paint looks odd to me. Maybe its just the pictures but it almost looks rhino lined lol
