Guys in other pro sports do it all the time. Journeyman ball players who stay just good enough to stay in the league while young guys coming out of college get cut before they even get a shot.
By your logic that guy who has been playing in the nba for 15 years and riding the bench for the last 7 should stop getting a pay check that feeds him and his family and let someone else have a turn.
That said, since 2006 Davalos has had podiums and top 5's as well as a couple wins. How does he not deserve a ride? Man some people.
This guys sucks, what a horrible career *sarcasm alert*...
wonder where grant will go? he's another one of those riders that you could imagine racking up a lot more career wins if things had gone his way more often!
Each sponsor (Rockstar, Monster, Red Bull, Toyota etc.) wants to hire riders that will get their brand in front of millions of consumers. Obviously, if your rider can get on the podium or win races, they will get more TV time and your PR group can create ads showing your product being successful.
James Stewart hasn't been in a real supercross title contention for a while now, but he sure sells product, so sponsors pay him a lot of money.
Bottom line is, unless you are sitting on the board of these sponsor's advertising divisions, you don't have the data on what the rider's efforts bring to the table.
2 wins
20 podiums
32 Top 5's
It's the sport we live in where some people think this is having a terrible career.
"Davalos flat out doesn't deserve the ride he has. It's the truth. Whether I'm being harsh or not it is the truth."
If it were "the truth," he wouldn't have a ride. What you just stated is nothing more than an opinion, of which you are entitled, but don't go trying to convince anyone it's "truth."

Has Tickle been resigned with RCH?
Given that Bogle is now officially staying GEICO Honda does the Factory Yamaha effort look stale?
So if Tickle isn't resigned, RCH is known to have lost some title sponsors, and Reed has a friendship with RC as well as a few title sponsors of his own that don't conflict with the team. Could we see Reed go RCH in place of Tickle? Or as a possible 3rd rider?
Reed could always transition into team manager there in the future as well.
Just some fun vital speculation! I remember there being talks at one point (or more) between the two
Yes it looks like this Yamaha new team has gone South , sounds like Reed still trying to make it happen at least for a ride for himself.
I don't see Reed being a third rider at RCH.
See they could just call it CRCH
"X2"
Anyone who doesn't think so hasn't been paying attention.
