Is set to slam into Mexico. 200 mph winds, lots of places are going to get leveled. Hope they are prepared as much as possible. Looks like Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area is going to get hammered Sad

I have a friend (friends sister really) who started her vacation down there today. I hope she is on the east coast. Hope everyone there is prepared. Not many storms hit the west coast.

I hope they get out of pacific coast area. The little fishing villages right on the beach are going to be in big trouble. 200 mph winds ? Fuuuuuuuck...... Half those houses look like they're barely standing with no wind, not good

I don't know. But a sustained 200 mph wind is like being in an F3 or F4 tornado. That's insane for a sustained wind speed.

There will be wheeless pickups and 4 door sedans with huge wings bolted on their trunklids blowing around like tumbleweed ,and the homeless can be brought here to become democratic voters hopefully before next November.

My brother in law has a vacation house in Puerto Vallarta, in Gringo Gulch on the hillside.

Hopefully he doesn't have to start saying "I used to have a vacation house in Puerto Vallarta, but it slid down the mountain into the river...".

It is a very tropical area with thick foliage and trees, can't imagine what 200mph winds would do to all those trees.

thanks it has already hit shore in la huerta thats far from P.V. if we get strong winds we should be getting them in an hour or so. so far no substantial damges reported.

Just wanted to check in on ratonmacias and any other mx brothers down south. Hopefully everyone came out of that ok.

Also.....you guys down in Texas , tons of water coming down. Sounds like some bad flooding going on. Hope you guys find some high ground and stay safe.

thanks to everybody its cool to get this kind of support. we were lucky that the huricane hit in a place where population is scarce. so there are fewer affected people. but damages are estimated at 2 billion usd. between the place where the hurricane hit and my home theres the sierra madre which is over 7000 feet tall at the highest points that helped to stop the hurricane from going cat 3 inland. now its time to help. as a civil engineer i will be doing some assesment work on the infrastructure of some of the more damaged towns. i will start this on monday right now its not possible because the water levels are still too high.

Glad to hear you guys are ok. Really concerned with the people that were not ready and had little notice because of their seclusion. That was a scary storm. Be safe out there.
