I'm a little wary that the only source I have seen saying he's okay is an unnamed Geico guy that TW and Racer X both quoted. The worst I've heard so far is a bloodied mouth? I hope that's the extent of it.

One thing that is safer about this event....not very likely you get ran over, jumped on etc. after you crash.

Average Joe- This is in no way becoming the " Direction of the Sport". It is a unique event that breaks up the monotony of 30 traditional races that happen in the year. The hope is that this is a fun and safe event for the athletes and that it might attack a new consumer who doesn't follow supercross/motocross. It was terrible to see RJ go down but we have confirmation that he is doing well and shouldn't be in the hospital long.

Starcrossed- Every rider in the paddock was invited, the same as last year. Some guys are hurt that wanted to compete, some guys are between rides that wanted to compete and some just chose to not compete. The event in no way excludes anyone regardless of energy drink affiliation. Red Bull X-fighters has riders with Monster and Rockstar, no reason to think this event is any different. None of the Red Bull riders were forced to race this event, its their choice.

Ryan Dungey said it was the most fun he has ever had at a race, that same sentiment was said by Kenny, Brayton, Partridge , Mcelrath, Smith and James. Seems like that should be good for something.

The focus of this event is innovation. If it was another 20 lap Supercross race put on by Red Bull that would do absolutely nothing for the sport and wouldn't be worth doing.

the dudes getting all butthurt saying "well they can risk there whole season!" . They risk there whole season every time they hop on the test track during the week. Quit being such die hard outdoor only assholes and have fun. It isn't 1974 anymore.

It helped Malcolm get a ride. I just heard him mention it on DMXS as well.

Yep, Red Bull, Monster & Rockstar could pool their money: for a trans-ama series every fall... Euro's vs. US.

I can't believe we have 12 motocross races a year...

No skateboard shoes... backpacks... or flat hats allowed... Laughing Silly

nah... people who didn't see it on the puter will be glued to their tv set on the 29th of nov. at 1:00 PM... busiest shopping weekend of the year...

no different to any sx whoop section though.
Except that they're entering it double the speed they would enter a traditional whoop section.

I'm no doctor, but "a little bleeding in the brain" sounds like a big deal

It's a brutal sport, no need to make it any worse in a EXHIBITION race...hoping everything is ok buddy

The big difference in this whoop section was that rather than starting on the level of the track surface and going up, these were cut in below the surface leading into them. That's a bit unusual.

Guy B-

We did that last year as well. It allows the guys to get into the whoops easier. It sets them in them rather then having to try and get on top of them. We did it at the test at the first one and the guys loved it.

They looked hard as hell, I wasn't there I dont know, but he really hit a concrete barrier for what its worth......I imagine its harder when you dig them down vs build them up.

Just a little bleeding on the brain.....That kid is tough as nails.

Maybe they should be referred to as "droops" to signify the difference from traditional whoops.
