I think the biggest question is its pretty dang obvious france and usa have this thing locked down pretty good.with all the injured riders out it seems the spoilers are pretty limited. so baring no crazy crashes or bad starts what if both teams go 1-2 tomorrow halfway thru the motos? because its looks like that could happen , do our guys say wth and go for broke instead of getting second

A couple 15th place starts for the French team could make things very interesting. Bummer that we are missing so many top riders from all over the world. Good racing today shaping up to be a good showdown tomorrow when we get some of those backmarkers of the track.

I honestly don't think Jeremy was pushing it. When he does , he's a little more erratic. He looked super smooth and as if he was trying new things out there while scoping the track. Sure he was riding hard , but I think he's saving something for tomorrow.
Yeah, I think it is the same with Marvin, I noticed he was only twisting the throttle 80%, and he used 2nd and 3th gear only on his KTM... Think he is saving the bike for tomorrow Silly

Faster today does not mean faster on race day.

What surprises me a bit, but not much, is that with so many injuries, the leaders are a bit above the field. That is why the MX2 motos will be even more crucial than usual.

I wanted to have a more accurate analysis, so looking at youthstream website, I found AMAZING that Musquin and Martin are capable to match the MX1 and MX3 speed (overall race time). Indeed, from today's results, the motos would have looked like this:

MX1 MX2
Musquin
Martin
Paulin
Townley
Barcia (who was catching Townley and would have on a longer moto)

MX2 Open
Febvre
Webb
Musquin
Martin
Van Horebeek

MX1 Open
Febvre
Webb
Paulin
Townley
Barcia (who was catching Townley and would have on a longer moto)

Based on what I said previously the score can be reversed depending on the starts, etc. That should make the winning team in the 8-10 points, and the second team in the 11-14. I can be totally wrong, but if these scores happens, I think that it would very very rare to see that, the second team with less than let us say 12 points. That should be a huge battle, the pressure in the MX1 Open race will be crazy !

could be right , remember it was a qualifying race so 2nd spot is an excellent pick and no need to go full throttle and take risks .... but we wont know until tomorrow Wink fact is without the normal spoilers like Cairoli , Herlings etc ...its gonna be really tight as we tomorrow could see all 3 races end up in a 1-1 1-2 or 2-1 for usa or france as they looked to be a league of their own ....

Febvre and Webb are both riders of the year in their series imo. Febvre sure has an advantage on home soil this weekend but anything can happen tomorrow.

Febvre is definitely on fire and I also don't think any racers at MXDN will beat him tomorrow. My point was that last weekend you guys were downplaying the U.S. sweeping qualifying on home soil but this weekend you aren't when the French do it on their.

Anstie Crash
Looks like he was clipped rather than landed on as the other guy seemed to stay on. Couple more metres and it would have been much worse.

You could be right Goat! Marvin is super fast and I in no way was down playing what he did in the qualifier. I think Jeremy would of had to push way top hard to even catch Marv , and for qualifiers it just wasn't worth it. And you're also right about Marv looking super smooth. He probably had a lot more in the tank.

That would explain why he was only using 2nd and 3th Smile but i am sure the factory 250 has more than 3 gears Huh

Early morning warm ups have began with Romain starting right where he left off...2sec a lap faster than the 2nd place rider. Marvin is in 3rd!

Wonder how they decide who goes in what session?

The race thread will start about 15min before the gate drops for moto 1. I need to try and take a little cat nap. Just use this thread for race discussion for now.
