I was referring to this... " I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the promo on Vurb and TWMX, and then poof, they were gone."

The above quote was talking about the episode prior being pulled.

TWMX did do a review about the Collier episode...

When you say "poof, they were gone", let me get this clear. He`s making video`s that he`s charging 14.99 for, but you want every major MX site to advertise it for free? It`s a product. If he doesn`t have money to pay for adverts, it`s his problem. He`s crying wolf. Bullshit as I said.

Adamitis video`s are for free and that`s why they are everywhere.

I`m getting pissed off at how stupid some people are.

Maybe they missed this in Racerhead two weeks ago:

"Eric Johnson’s epic Brian Myerscough story from our Racing Paper days, “The Other Side of Midnight,” needs to be retold in its entirety in the magazine someday. Troy Adamitis and crew did some tough documentaries in their Great Outdoors series that told of families like the Grants, torn apart by success and money. And more lately the online Spectrum series has a very provocative episode about SoCal journeyman pro Sean Collier and his struggles growing up, as well as adapting to life after moto."

I didn't like the kid the week before Loretta Lynn's saying "Loretta Lynn's is a joke," since had been there once and got tenth place and decided it was a useless race. Of all the clips to post the week before this year's Loretta Lynn's, I thought it was a cheap shot. But that was it.

And I like Sean Collier, but I could care less about what he says in a video, and we had no problem mentioning it. The kid who hates Loretta Lynn's? He's entitled to his opinion, but I'm entitled not to promote a video about a kid who disses on the biggest race in motocross because he got tenth-place his one time there. But he still came and raced this time and I wish he had done better, because maybe he would not be so bitter. I hoped to meet him there and give him a tour of the place and explain how important it is to a lot of other folks in the sport, but I never ran into him.

I enjoyed the one and a half Spectrum videos I've seen, and we've mentioned them numerous times on Racer X Online, but if someone wants to talk crap on a pretty good race that I am involved in, I am not required to post promos and commercials for it so they make money off of insulting an event we work pretty hard to make happen. That's the only part I disliked, because I obviously have a much different opinion of Loretta Lynn's, as do a lot of other people. I doubt they put a Loretta Lynn's promo or commercial in that video, so why do I have to put a Spectrum commercial up about it?

I have no idea what happened between Sean and Fasthouse and FMF and Kyle Cowlings and any of his other sponsors, nor do I care. I do think his video was pretty deep and sad, and I wasn't expecting the parts about him and his dad because he's never mentioned that to me, and he didn't mention it in the 8-page feature we did on him last year.

Good luck to all involved in these videos, but please quit telling people you've been banned or threatened or blacklisted or anything, because that is simply not true. And please consider coming to Loretta Lynn's next year and maybe talking to some people and their families who actually appreciate the event rather than hate it.

Two questions.
1) Who the hell is Sean Collier?
2) Should I care?

Loretta Lynn's is kind of a joke. The B class is faster than A. C class is a joke don't even get me started on that. And all those bs vet classes are stacked with ex pros.I took my son two years in a row for 65s and we had fun yes don't get me wrong. But the amount of money I spent just pulling in the gates paying for pit vehicle passes, paying for my other kids to watch their brother race not worth it. It is more about money than it is the legacy of Loretta's unfortunately.

How can you throw big words out and construe a simple two word post but cant take his statement for what it is? Collier did say shit, said that his business with Lil D and the Fasthouse was a private matter. The "industry bigots" reference was not intented for them. That comment was directd for the ones who demanded for the series to be banned. His attempt was to seperate his sponsors from that. Notice everyone plays off the face that they even knew who Cowling was before all this? Yea they knew, theyve all had dealings with him in the past. So yea, well said

Jwag87, I appreciate you coming two years and I am sorry it's not your favorite race. And I am okay with anyone who doesn't enjoy it, to each their own. But it's no joke, and that's why it's been there for 34 years and continues to produce the best young riders in the nation.
But why did you have to pay for your other kids to watch their brother? We don't charge spectator admission, just vehicles...

If you can't afford to go then don't go. Racing is not cheap that's really no secret. No reason to dog the guy putting the race on. I doubt they're making bank off the gate fees but who knows?

So who demanded Collier's video be taken down? Who are the industry bigots trying to blacklist Kyle? Sean? I didn't like the Loretta Lynn's video, it was a cheap shot and I said as much.

And I didn't remember Kyle until someone here reminded me that he inquired about a video job at Racer X, but I had no direct dealings with those conversations. He worked at Transworld at the time but I don't live California and never see him and quite honestly didn't realize who he was or that I knew him. So why would I "ban" him for making a good video about my friend Sean Collier?

I've read through this whole thread and I may have missed something but who exactly demanded that the video be banned?

No one is going to name names or release any details like emails or text messages. It's all one big conspiracy theory. It's funny that some people want to "expose" the industry but when push comes to shove, they back out and make up some excuse as to why they cannot release any of the details.

I raced Loretta's many years. From 93-98. Minis, Schoolboy, Intermediate, Pro.

It's definitely one of the most amazing races you can participate in. The facility is incredible. The track is awesome. It's the best organized and best run Amateur event in the country.

I have raced them all, Ponca, Vegas, Mino O's, Mammoth, So Cal winter series, Lake Whitney, etc etc etc.

Nothing compares to the overall experience at Loretta Lynns.

I totally agree with DC that he has the right NOT to promote or showcase any video or item that insults what he has invested blood, sweat, tears and money into...and not to promote anything that is being pushed by controversy, looking for free publicity to fuel it's sales, instead of paying like everybody else does to promote their product.

If the reason that FMF & Fasthouse dropped him because they got butthurt over his negative statements regarding LL or his experience in amateur racing (things that both companies are invested in), then they look pretty childish doing so. If Sean chose to distance himself from those companies...then I'm sure he has his reasons.

What will happen next week on "As the knobby Turns" Will the E-mails surface ? Is the ban real ? Are motocross promoters trying to make money ? Does free advertising work ? Stay tuned....

BIGOT:
1.
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

I'm sure they exist in this industry, because they exist everywhere.
I'm not sure they exist in this situation.

I disagree with your last statement. You may not have advanced your child's moto career, but you created memories that are hard to put a price on. I have fond memories of LL's and it has nothing to do with my piss-poor results. It is a great week with family and friends, and I'm proud that 20 something years later my name is in The Vault along side future factory stars. Unless you acted like an entitled mini-Dad the entire week (which brings us back to the original topic), your Son will look back and appreciate your sacrifice to give him the opportunity to play on the biggest stage. Or . . . maybe someday he will be the subject of a Kyle Cowling documentary. Lol.

Still waiting for Kyle Cowling in all of this. There were some strong accusations made and it's looking really bad on him now being in hiding.

Where are you Kyle? Did you make all of it up?

As much as I wish DC would spearhead a push for 125's to return to the national spotlight, this thread is just one of many reasons that I stop DC in his tracks, shake his hand and thank him for all he does. There are some serious dumbphucks out there.

I'm totally confused by these 8 pages, I watched the film this morning and thought it was ok,Sean bashed mini parents a little, his pro career didn't work out and he got a job, what's wrong with that? as far as being blacklisted, he said he doesn't race anymore, why would anyone want to sponsor him? Seems like he's having a blast on his KX500 anyways

So...we've got a guy who says he saw some ladies instabook post that says Sean is being dropped, but nobody else has seen this post... This is turning into some infowars.com conspiracy garbage. If said proof exists, put it out there. You've already said it, so prove it! If you won't, then what was all this for? Making allegations without evidence? You should have known this would not go over well...

Those videos were very well done! I enjoyed them and look forward to more!

Can I point out two important facts here?

1) Does the video confirm what we all knew about the sport? Yes.............we all see it and it has become worse with time.

2) Have you ever seen any of the major motocross companies, AMA, or any industry big speak out against how the sport is for kids? Has anyone taken action to address the problems?

The fact is this sport is small and controlled by a few. They protect their positions within the sport with non action. They also protect their positions by getting rid of anyone who might be a threat. Sean and Kyle make the video and now they will pay the price. They did what was right but will be treated like a government whistle blower! They should be highlighted in the magazines and talks should start on how to address some issues in the sport!

I recommend all parents buy the video just to learn from them! It sure can't hurt! If your family is everything to you then watch to video and learn from another's mistakes!

So Luongo and his MXGP cronies should put together a movie explaining why the MXGP's are the premier racing series and the US Nationals are a lower class series, send it to Racer X and expect them to put it up on their website or else be labeled an industry bigot?

Some pretty outlandish claims coming from Sean and Kyle.

i just cant believe who some of our "admins" are.... I might be way late on this one but since when did the Private Info Poster from Enjoy MFG become an admin? Like really?

I guess it as consistent as our industry is....LOL

But, I did have a stint over at proride until i realized every single person there is from california 909 BRO! so thats what keeps me coming back here.

Even though i know nothing, its still fun to post here over that shitbox

I'm on Proride as well and have met a TON of those guys in person. Have yet to meet a "909 bro." I have met a ton of good people there that have gone out of their way to help me, including a friend that actually let me live at his house in between moving to new places. I do remember your stint there and it was met with ridicule and a bunch of other people ignoring you so I can see why you might be angry.
Agreed....

I truly try to see all sides in this. Coming from a guy who is just stating opinion like everyone else here, I have no idea where the original info about sponsors came from. That is what this thread is about and that is what I've responded to. What I do know for a fact is that the video series has ruffled feathers with people in the idustry, that is obvious or we wouldnt still be on here talking about it. I do know there were emails and texts sent Cowling. I do not know him personally but we have some mutual friends that also have copies of some of this stuff. As for myself, Its not my place to quote or point fingers at any of these guys. If Kyle wants to shed light on his side of the story, thats for him to decide.
As for the videos themselves, I think they are straight forward about what really goes on and unfortunetly the problems are groing. The quote about Loretta's was taken way out of proportion. The Loretta's race was not a target as much as the "Loretta's frame of mind" that all these kids new to the sport dream about. Every local track around the country these days are filled with family's that believe their kid will be the next big thing. Unfortunately almost none of them are having fun. The attitudes of some of these parents I've encountered at the track are horrible. I understand that this is a problem in all sports these days. Granted, none of this is the fault of DC or any other lone eninty. Fortunately for them there business has flourished.
The problem lies in the fact that so many of these up and coming guys that have a little bit of support look to be playing the part of some kind of success story when in fact most are scraping by. The reason this thread has garnished so much attention is the fact that FMF and Fasthouse are two of the names synonymous in the hearts and minds of the "core" of the sport. Collier has gained alot of attention in the last year or so doing all those things against the grain of what "sucess" is measured by. His sponsors have gotten alot of attention by the fact that he is a relatively unknown rider out doing what he loves on an cheaper, outdated bike and showcasing what makes our sport "fun". When rumors fly that someone is trying to pull support from this type of guy, people tend to get a bit fired up about it.

If said proof exists, put it out there. You've already said it, so prove it! If you won't, then what was all this for? Making allegations without evidence? Facts:

1. Sean and Kyle made a video.
2. Sean posts that because of the video his sponsor list is shorter.
3. Video is blocked from multiple websites and magazines.
4. Someone very close to the sponsors explains why he no longer has their name on the bike. Anyone that saw his IG saw the post. It's up to them to come forward if they do. I know one is a Fasthouse sponsored rider and affiliated with a magazine so that is that.
5. Deletes post and responds to deleting it. It's still there if you don't believe me.
6. All sponsors deny letting him go.

We won't know exactly what happened in their meeting but there is ultimately 2 options.

A. They were so pissed at him that he did the video with out permission and let him go.
B. They're reaction to the video was so bad that it began to push them apart and he said I'm out.

Either way. Before the video it was all good. Now it's not. I commend Sean for taking the high road and not stooping to their level. We haven't and won't hear from Fasthouse officially because they just want this to go away. I know that their sponsored person came here to clear it up but only had a damage control agenda. Called names and made accusations that were only hearsay. I just put out the facts of the matter so people could see the truth.
