I'm up for having anyone who people are interested in as a guest in a Forum QNA. We only need one a week. Wink

Man, if Cowling is making this stuff up, that's pretty sad.

And I have supported the series by purchasing all of them.

I guess unless Sean speaks up, it will all be hearsay.

With Emler & DC seemingly in the dark about WTH is going on...if this is just a ploy to sell a video, it's pretty jacked up.

I frankly didn't know who Sean Collier was before the Day In The Dirt KX500 video...and I instantly became a fan of the guy. In some interviews after that, he's come off like just a good dude that loved to ride dirt bikes, so I'm all about that.

I hope this turns out to be just a fist full of rumors and nobody has done anything stupid.

WOW. Someone just pointed me to Proride.com and there's a post entitled "Sean Collier Fans" by Kyle "Elmo" Cowling and it starts with this:

"Since Davey Coombs has already threatened half the industry not to post anything from our last episode unless they like lifetime bans, we figured we'd push the boundaries even more with episode five. In the full thing, Collier calls out the entire amateur & professional scene, his dad, Carmichael, and more. HA...."

EDIT: Someone reminded me that I did know who Kyle Cowling is, that he used to work at Transworld and we used to call him Elmo. EDIT: And then someone else pointed out that his post was from back in August.

I think I now feel worse for Sean Collier.

DC
MX Sports
Kyle Cowling is the guy that started a Kickstarter fund to make a movie about Josh Grant and all the drama with his mom!

It has been two years and the trailer is still not out. I think the guy is full of crap. I backed it and think I got scammed.

He drummed up initial interest in much the same way.

Kyle is a good guy. I've never met DC, but I'm 100% sure he's a good guy. There must be something that's been miscommunicationed or misunderstood, because I don't think Kyle would fabricate a lie like this (maybe as someone mentioned before, it's a bad game of telephone), and I don't think DC would act like he's being accused. I hope they get it sorted out.

This is getting really weird to say the least. Elmo ( Kyle ) has always published some cool videos , so I haven't one idea of what's going on here. Wish Sean the best on whatever happens here.

I don't post here much, but I'm a regular over at Proride and a member of the Fasthouse family. For what it's worth, here is an official response (written by me on behalf of Kenny) from Kenny and the Fasthouse crew:

I’ve been a fly on the wall for the past few weeks in regards to this issue for a couple reasons.

Number 1, Sean is my friend. I’ve grown to respect him not only as a rider, but as a human. He’s an amazing father and husband and has always respected me and my family. I’ve got nothing but love for the guy.
Number 2, this is business between Sean and Fasthouse. None of mine.

However, as of late some other companies have come forward and told their side of the story which leaves Fasthouse the only brand that hasn’t said anything. This could suggest that Fasthouse is guilty as charged and lead to more unnecessary speculation.

The following is on behalf of Kenny Alexander and Fasthouse (not my words):
Sean Collier was never dropped from the brand. In fact, Kenny and Manny have tried multiple times to reach out to Sean with no response. We’ve heard that Sean has removed the Fasthouse graphics from the 500 and is no longer wearing the gear. This is Seans choice, as he has never been told to stop representing the brand. I think it’s safe to say that everybody over at Fasthouse has nothing but love for Sean and we all hope this nonsense ends very soon.

Wow, great post.. I was damn close to pulling the trigger on the video and I'm one that's had a solid stance against purchasing these for my own reasons. You have settled down my moment of fervor and I will just watch this unfold from here.
I was literally mid-download of a program in order to purchase the episode when I started thinking about the relative absurdity of the whole thing...lol so you aren't alone my friend.

Not that those who have purchased or will purchase are terrible people, by any means. In reference to what you mentioned ("moment of fervor"), I'd like to think I can make my purchases, however big or small, because I genuinely want them - not because some other stimuli/prompt creates an impulse to do so.

This general theme was the basis for a long running (and still, at times, ongoing) joke with my buddies from undergrad - which was at WVU, btw, DC...so brownie points for me, I presume... Smile

Sorry, I haven't seen and don't really plan to see the video, but isn't Sean Collier just a part time local SoCal pro who races a national here and there?

I mean, I see him at the local tracks now and then, but why would a guy with his results even merit sponsorship from a company like FMF? and if he actually does get compensation, how much could it really be, a couple hundred bucks or some free product?

Im kind of missing the point, what is the big deal about a local pro who makes a video?

I think how you need to interpret that comment is basically the $$$ commitment it takes to race the amateurs to make it to the pros sucks. we all love this sport but its turned into rich mans sport now. we all know plenty of families buried in debt trying to make it . don't take it personal but its how the sport has evolved unfortunately now

Fast house and FMF must be stupid!

After watching that I purchased Fasthouse stuff, I thought it was cool they were supporting him.
Just a note to the product people: pros don't purchase your stuff, the average joe who respects collier for speaking out, those are the people purchasing your products!

Getting blacklisted? For that video?

Not buying it. (Unless Oliver Stone had a hand in the video. Then we can attribute it
to his marketing strategy.)

So how does a FMF and a Fasthouse rep posting in this thread that they did not drop Collier affect your opinion that they are stupid? They both claim to have tried to contact him since these rumors came to light but get no response.

This thread title is misleading and people don't read the comments through the pages. Not fair to the companies mentioned.

Sounds like Fasthouse, DC and FMF is getting thrown under the bus for no reason.

Unfortunately I think some people do read the comments, and still post what they post. I think people look for a reason to get riled up, and when they find out there's nothing to get riled up about they get riled up that there's nothing to get riled up about. Or something like that. This is a non-story about a video producer going full retard to draw attention to himself.

And DC's comments too....the whole thing is all very bizarre.

Doesn't sound like DC, Fasthouse, FMF have done ANYTHING wrong.

I was fairly surprised that there was a fee associated with the videos. I know it's not cheap to make them but I also don't think the sport is big enough for a ppv type system. I'm going to assume a lot of people feel that way and I'm sure there where a lot of people like myself being hypocrites and bought at least one episode! The only one I purchased was the Collier and Richardson episode. And here is what I got out of it.

1. It is no secret that lots of families invest and look for a return.
2. It is no secret that there is quite a bit of child abuse behind the scenes.
3. This goes for any sport
4. I became a big fan of Jackson Richardson
5. I'm still a fan of Sean Collier and hope he continues to shred on the five hundo
6. I will still continue to buy Fmf gnarly pipes
7. I think the tld fasthouse gear is unbelievably nice gear
And lastly...
8. I really felt as though this series has been done before with Troy Adamitis behind the dream series and really feel he is trying to copy it but it's also stuff that has been said before and felt like it was a carbon copy of Troys work minus one vital piece of the puzzle and that's Troy's narration. And for that I'm glad I only bought one episode.

At least 1 good thing is coming out of this thread: sponsors now know this type of activity with their sponsored rider doesn't hurt their business, in reality it helps
