On a bit of a serious note, I wonder if any teams came to chat with him after the race?

Imo I think he's to much of a family man to head over to Europe.

It was great to be part of this experience, and I really enjoyed it; I would definitely consider MXGP in the future if there was an offer on the table

Great that Josh won the second moto, thanks to a fall by Febvre but the cards all fell into place for him, home-town track, crazy heat, championship already decided, 1 week before MXDN etc.

He's a great rider no doubt, but honestly do you think if he came to Europe and the overseas GP venues, away from his SoCal flat peak, black sock hommies and family, he would adapt better than Ryan Villopoto??? and we all know how that ended!Wink

I agree.

Grant to the GPs would not go well, he's a So-Cal bro to the core...I don't think he'd adjust well to the "culture" in Europe.

I'm a Grant fan by the way, love that the guy can uncork the speed to win at any given race, I just think he's better off in the good ol' U S of A

It ended the 4th race of the year and first race in Europe....literally had nothing to do with his adaption to the GP's or living there...to be fair.

Agree. Grant to GPs is a worse idea than RV to GPs.

Aldon seems great at taking championship contenders and tweaking their game to make them champions. Josh Grant isn't (IMO) a championship contender. Great rider, and a threat for a podium here and there, and even a win when things go his way...but not a championship contender.

Grant is a top ten AMA guy that would struggle in Europe. The sand and mud are completely foreign to him. Now on the hardpack he might compete a little better. He is on the tail end of his career and looking for a paycheck.

For sure I hope to see Grant racing in 2016, weither it is in the US or in GPs.

About the cultural thing, firstly there is the language barrier, so I tend to think he would feel better in the South East of the UK or in the South of the Netherlands, where there are tons of tracks (about 25 tracks at less than 40 minutes drive around Eindhoven).

Otherwise, the biggest thing is to miss home, friends, etc, but I am sure that travelling in family would help him a lot.

That would not be a bad way to finish his career, with a couple GP seasons. I wish him to find a good ride, it is true that adapting to euro tracks is not easy but I think he could run often in the top 10, although the field is super stacked. Not many riders gave a good run at Febvre this year, so I am sure he could be a threat for a podium in Qatar, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, probably UK/France/Italy/Bulgaria/Czech Republic and at the US GPs.

Same as the way it ended for Tony, Max, and Clement. .......and as far as your comments go, I wouldn't expect anything less from a Brit who is still bitter about a war that took place 200 years ago.

Living and working in different country is a great experience.

I'm sure he'd be fine if he could get over the first season without injury, and get over how depressing a place like Lommel is during the winter.

Grant has won outside of Glen Helen, he has a Supercross win and National win at Budds Creek. Now he has an MXGP moto win and podium overall finish. How many of todays top 450 riders can say that? Not many, their wins came on 250's and some merely in the regional SX series East or West.

Grant has had injuries derail his career more than anything, but as a fan of his I think a professionaly organized training regime has hurt him as well. Hence my Baker comment.

While he isn't a kid anymore I'd bet given a good ride and trainer he could be a podium guy again and pull off a win or two. Many great riders never achieve that in their careers.
