Man, it's not that hot at GH, and you can't fake sand like Lommel. Nevertheless, Febvre was fantastic, and I look forward to seeing him back it up next time out.... I spoke with him for about twenty minutes last night and I am a fan, very impressive and humble and driven and competitive, His win does not surprise me as much as a Dungey (or any Yank) win at Lommel would.

If I'm not mistaken I witnessed Grant win moto 1 at Glen Helen 2014 Wink He knows his way around that place for sure

He also won ONE SX race in his career. I'm not sure what he's finished in the final standing the last couple of years? Bottom line, he's not a top guy on the American scene...Not much to dispute on this one.

Bro lets not compare febvre beating Webb a 250 rider to dungey winning in the sand.

That doesn't even make sense.

Now if he beat dungey or Tomas at GH it's almost comparable, but sill wouldn't be....

Respect to Febvre. He just worked his way up through the pack, was patient then put a charge on with 3 laps to go to get it done.

Great ride.

Oh, Grant was very fast, stylish, used excellent racecraft to pass the guys in front of him, went ballsout in the early going to make passes stick, pulled a lead out a few seconds.....and then he faded 2/3 of the way through and finished a distant 3rd.

I just want more from Grant. I want him....before its too late(maybe it already is)... to win multiple races in a season and contend for a championship. I always thought he could and I really want him to put a push on here as he gets closer to 30 years old.

GP--AMA combination race. Points to respective governing body. At the GP race rates it would only cost DC a 400 thousand dollar check to Louigi for the rights. It would sure draw a crowd though.

P.S.: just out of curiosity, are your name and surname starting with RG too? LOL

@keith101 you have to consider that this is the first time Febvre ride an american soil at all and it's a rookie season for him.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't Grant already beat Dungey and Roczen at Glen Helen 2014? Not to mention that he's a California native too, surely he's been racing there since he's a kid.

Febvre is the real deal. JMB told us his decision making is spot-on and quick -- like the races slow down for him, which is what they say in other pro sports. He might get hot in the second moto, but now I believe he is sizing up Webb for Ernee next week... That's why they are both charging here.

This race by Febvre was an exact replica of what a healthy Cairoli can do - and usually does !

Not-so-great start, no panic, don't let the leaders go away too much, then reel them in at the end.

Very impressive, especially in that heat.

Him vs Antonio vs Nagl vs Desalle (vs Van Ho), all on top game, would be fantastic !

Man, if I only had 400K laying around... Maybe they should waive it like they did all U.S. riders entry fees for this race? We don't want to pay 400K from Youthstream, nor do they need it. I believe our races are superb, and we pay the racers prize money (though not enough as I wish). I don't think they have the same mindset over there about business. I enjoy their races (and racers) but neither Feld nor MX Sports would get rid of the purse to make bigger VIP structure....

I watched a qualifying moto yesterday in a sky box along the starting with Eric Johnson and Kari (Schmit) and I thought, 'Why is this more important than paying a purse?' We just see things differently but what they do works for their 15 or 20 riders per class, ours has to work for many more, and better. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the racing and respect what they are up against.
